Tyler Bergmans Tyler Bergmans 6'2" | SG South Burlington | 2024 State New E , 6’2 G – South Burlington H.S. Class of 2024
Bergmans is one of my favorite initiators of the offense. He’s someone who can explode with buckets, as evidenced by his 27-point season opener and 20-point follow up performance, or he can dice up a defense with distribution. And the way he does it is so efficient. Tyler’s a smart slasher who attacks the weak side of the floor, gets physical, and finishes with excellent touch. He gets inside with his handle and off his cutting, and when defenses collapse, he makes sound reads time and time again. A versatile defender and the best rebounding guard in the state, Bergmans is putting in work to open the season.
Freddie Bacon, 5’11 G – Colchester H.S. Class of 2026
With Freddie it’s consistent, smart basketball. He set teammates up constantly with smooth dimes against Mississquoi, often collapsing the defense and forcing tough rotations, or by making plays in the open court. Furthermore, Freddie put the ball in the bucket too. He flashed the floater, got to the FT line often, and found the stroke on his jumper as well. Bacon’s defensive presence brought nice pressure on the ball, often causing MVU difficulties while setting up. Bacon is a premier orchestrator; keep tabs on him.
Dez Krakowka, 6’3 W – Rutland H.S. Class of 2025
The transfer from MSJ Academy has given this RHS squad a nice burst of playmaking. Dez went for 17, eight rebounds and four steals vs. South Burlington. Krakowka’s offensive bag is thorough; he has nice power game and touch in the post or when slashing, can turn over the right shoulder for the lefty jumper, and stroked the 3 off the catch. Moreover, his savvy passing created plentiful looks for teammates, and his defensive toughness plus glass-cleaning stokes RHS on that end. He looks great and Rutland has new life.
Tobey Bellows Tobey Bellows 6'4" | PG Harwood Union | 2024 New E , 5’11 G – Harwood Union H.S. Class of 2024
Tobey had it going to kick off the season. Bellows put up 28 points and he got it a variety of ways. Harwood’s press gave Enosburg Falls trouble and TB was able to capitalize on turnovers for easy buckets. Yet his methodical, halfcourt facilitation brought the buckets too. He found the stroke from 3, distributed intuitively with nice reads out of pnr and via teammates off ball action. I have Bellows down as one of D2’s finest playmakers.
Pascal Munezero, 5’9 G – Burlington H.S. Class of 2027
This is a guy everyone needs to keep on their radar; Pascal is 2027’s most electrifying player. Munezero put up an efficient 16 points in BHS’ home opener and he did it with hustle. BHS’ trapping defense fits Pascal perfectly; his relentless ball pressure, quick rotations, and open court playmaking were on display all game. His burst out of the pack and athletic finishing had the opponents on the ropes all game. His will to hustle and make defensive plays makes him so easy to root for. Pascal can’t be overlooked.
