There were nationally ranked matchups, some great matchups between teams from both states and tons of high level talent throughout the event.
I was there Friday and Saturday, and here’s part two of the many standouts from the VA teams in attendance.
Jayden Sepulveda Jayden Sepulveda 5'8" | PG Landstown | 2024 State VA | 5’9” PG | Landstown 2024
Sepulveda has been a part of this Landstown team for a while and is one of the senior captains this year, and he played very well in their loss to Greenville against a very talented backcourt. He’s a steady hand the point guard position who doesn’t turn it over and makes great decisions with the ball. He picked his spots to score it knocking down shots from deep and touching the paint, and he brought good energy and leadership on both ends of the floor.
Colby White Colby White 6'5" | SF Blue Ridge | 2025 State VA | 6’3” CG | Blue Ridge 2025
White is set to have a breakout sophomore season for a talented Blue Ridge team, as he has made big leaps since last year and played with a ton of confidence in both of their games. He is a strong combo guard who can play through contact when he’s guarded closely and when he gets downhill, and he’s able to impact the game across the board with his blend of size, athleticism and skill. He made shots from deep consistently, got to spots off the bounce and scored it from the midrange and he is a good rebounder and defender too.
Ashton Walker Ashton Walker 6'5" | PG Catholic | 2025 State #172 Nation VA | 6’4” PG | Catholic 2025
Walker is going to be the breakout player in the 757 this year after a big summer with Boo Williams , and while Catholic struggled in their loss to Wilson Prep he was one of their bright spots showing his all-around game at the point guard position. At 6’4” he has long arms and great instincts defensively to jump passing lanes and get deflections, and he is able to use his size to see over defenders and deliver passes most guards simply can’t. He has great feel and plays with good pace making him tough to stay in front for defenders, he scored it efficiently from all over and he made plays for others as well.
Aiden Argabright Aiden Argabright 6'0" | PG John Marshall | 2025 State #220 Nation VA | 6’0” PG | John Marshall 2025
Argabright was flat out fantastic for JM this weekend who went 1-1 with a tough loss to nationally ranked Myer’s Park and a win over Richmond Senior, and he was perhaps their most consistent player across the board. He played both on and off the ball and shot the ball extremely well from deep off the catch, and when he was on the ball he showed good change of pace and a shifty handle that allowed him to get downhill where he drew contact and got the line a lot where he is basically automatic. He brought it on both ends of the floor, he put up big numbers scoring the ball and was efficient and he made winning plays throughout the weekend for his team.
Marcus Jackson Marcus Jackson 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2025 State #161 Nation VA | 6’8” PF | John Marshall 2025
It was impossible to watch Jackson this past weekend and not walk away blown away thinking about the long term potential he has, as he showed elite level athleticism as well as strides that he’s improving in the right areas. The 6’8” forward looks the part as he has a great frame with a strong upper body and long arms, and coupled with his explosive leaping ability it makes him an elite level shot blocker and finisher above the rim. He’s starting to get more comfortable in the midrange and on the perimeter as he hit a number of jumpers in those areas, and as that all continues to become more consistent he’s going to be a very sought after recruit in the next few years.
