Norris was able to pull away at the end thanks to contributions from several guys. Four Titans finished in double figures, including Josh Bornschlegl, who scored eight of his ten points in the fourth quarter. Barret Boesiger Barret Boesiger 6'2" | SG Norris | 2025 State NE paced Norris with a team-high nineteen points, including five made three-point field goals. Chris Garner Jr. finished with fourteen points and several offensive rebounds. He was a force inside all night long. Evan Greenfield provided a big time spark off of the bench. He finished with sixteen points, and was elite defensively. Alec Small, another underclassmen for Norris, was special as well. Small’s toughness, playmaking, defense and clutch free throws helped lead Norris to a win. There is no question that Boesiger and Garner are the two leaders on this Norris team. However, the Titan’s talented youth propels them into the Class B championship picture.
Three Wahoo players finished in double figures last night. Marcus Glock Marcus Glock 6'4" | SF Wahoo | 2024 State NE tallied 35 points, adding to his 33.7 PPG average. As expected, he’s been on a tear to start the season. Dylan Simons played very well for the Warriors as well. He finished with 14 points, and added several rebounds, steals, assists and blocks. Sophomore Forward Cody Hesser put in an efficient 12 points on 6-7 shooting from the field. Wahoo will be a contender in C1 once again. With Glock leading the way, other Warriors will need to step up in their quest for a state championship. They should be an exciting team to watch during the course of the 2023-2024 season.
Barret Boesiger Barret Boesiger 6’2″ | SG Norris | 2025 State NE always impresses. After a successful summer with Nebraska Supreme , the sharpshooter is off to a fast start with the Titans, averaging 20 points per game through his first three games of the season. Boesiger has one of the prettiest jump shots in the state. His strength allows him to shoot from well beyond the three point line, while his elevation helps him rise up over taller defenders in the mid-range. He is a fearless competitor with a high motor. When the game is on the line, the ball should be in Boesiger’s hands. Good things happen when it is. As colleges begin to wrap up their 2024 recruiting classes and shift their focus to the 2025 class, Boesiger should see a serious uptick in his recruitment.
Marcus Glock Marcus Glock 6’4″ | SF Wahoo | 2024 State NE put on a show last night. Norris did everything in their power to stop Glock, and he still finished the game with 35 points. His elite shot making was on display once again, scoring from all three levels of the floor. Because the defense was so concerned about his three point shot, Glock was aggressive getting down hill, and got to the free throw line 13 times. When he drew double or triple teams, Glock did a great job of making the right play and finding the open man. The most impressive thing about Glock’s performance last night was his poise. It seemed like the whole gym was cheering against him. However, time after time, Glock delivered and silenced the crowd. Last night was just another special performance from the NWMSU commit. Coach McCollum has another special talent coming into his program.
Chris Garner Jr.
Chris Garner Jr.
Chris Garner Jr had a nice outing last night. His aggressive and physical play in the interior set the tone for the Titans defensively. On offense, whenever Garner got the ball inside, it was almost a guaranteed two points. He seeks out contact around the rim, and does not shy away from posting up bigger defenders. Garner is also relentless on the offensive glass, as he came away with several offensive rebounds last night that led to second chance points. Just a Sophomore, Garner has a bright future, and is not afraid of the big moments. Chris Garner Jr and his teammate Barret Boesiger Barret Boesiger 6’2″ | SG Norris | 2025 State NE make up one of the best duo’s in class B. Both are relentless competitors with a winning mentality.
Evan Greenfield
Evan Greenfield
Freshman Evan Greenfield had himself a game last night in front of a packed gym. The lights were definitely not too bright for Greenfield, as he finished with 16 points. He had some tough takes to the rim, and knocked in 2 three pointers as well. In addition to his scoring, it seemed like Greenfield was all over the floor last night. He made winning play after winning play (especially on the defensive end). Greenfield is a scrappy player with an advanced skillset for his age. He also showed he can produce under pressure, confidently making both of the game sealing free throws. Greenfield is a prospect to track in the 2027 Nebraska class. His future is super bright.
Alec Small
Alec Small
Alec Small ran the show last night for Norris. Tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player, he still found ways to be productive on the offensive end. Small did a great job of dissecting the Wahoo defense and making the right play. He is an unselfish player with great vision. Small’s quickness allowed him to get to the paint often, which resulted in some crafty finishes around the rim. At 6′, Small is an incredibly athletic point guard that posses as a threat to opposing teams. He plays much bigger than he is listed. Currently, Small leads the team in assists, and is third in scoring. He is another talented young player on this deep Norris squad.
Dylan Simons
Dylan Simons
Dylan Simons is a super unique prospect. At 6’5, he plays every position on offense and can guard every position on defense. While his size and frame make him tough to stop inside, he is also very comfortable handling the ball. Last night in the second half, Simons was tasked with brining the ball up against Norris’ man-to-man press. Defensively, Simons was a beast, coming away with several blocks and steals. He is the perfect compliment to Glock, and plays a huge role for the Warriors. He scored the majority of his 14 points inside on either drives or post-ups, but also stepped out and knocked in a three pointer as well. It is going to be interesting to see how Simons’ recruitment plays out. He has a lot of potential to be a big time player.
