After a few loaded tournaments last week, this week, we have much more on tap and one of the better ones we will see this week is at Fishers High School. Along with the Tigers, the 7 other teams that will fill this bracket include Lawrence Central, Chesterton, Jeffersonville, South Bend Riley, Evansville Bosse, Portage, and Bloomington North. Below, I have listed a player to watch from each team plus my predictions for the entire tournament.
Gooden III has had an overall breakout season for the Lawrence Central Bears and is a big reason they have won 4 games so far this year. With the key injury in junior wing Niyzi Davis, Gooden III has been tasked as one of the players step up this season and has done so very well. He tough, physical guard that can really play fast and get downhill. He could really impress in Lawrence Central’s game vs Chesterton.
Tyler Parrish Tyler Parrish 6’3″ | SG Chesterton | 2024 State IN still remains one of the best guards that is still on board, which is a little mind-blowing. He has had a strong of really good games not even including the amount of highlight dunks he has had. Parish is one of the more naturally athletic guards in the state and plays with a fantastic motor on both ends of the floor. He is also one of the more versatile guards in the state as he can shoot it from deep and explode through the lane and finish at the rim. Could be the best two-guard in the gym on Thursday.
Douglas is one part of the talented junior trio at Jeffersonville. He is a 6’4 forward that is a versatile wing that can initiate offense on the perimeter while having the size to finish inside. As of this writing, he is averaging around 11.4 points a game while adding over 6 rebounds per game as well. Could be a difference maker this tournament.
Highlights
Schindler is one of the more under-the-radar guard in the state but has a lot of skill. Even at his small size at 5’9, Schindler is a very good shooter from behind the arc with a quick release. He had a real good showing in the Kokomo Tournament last week and is expected to have another good outing here at Fishers. Excited to see how he does against the talented guard group in this event.
Highlights
Howell makes a strong case as the best guard here in the Fishers tournament, which is a huge advantage for Evansville Bosse. On the ball, there will be no player that is was quick as Howell and there will likely be no guard that will be able to break down a defense like he can. He is another 2024 guard that is still on the board as far as recruiting is concerned. He is going to put up a lot of points here.
Johnson is one of the more intriguing players that will be at this event. At 6’6, he is capable of shooting out to mid-range and very mobile around the basket for his size. He is good on the roll or when rim-running in transition. As of this writing, Johnson is averaging around 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. This stock-rising big could make a lot of noise at Fishers.
Cross Jr is the lone freshman in the watch list but is a player that has a ton of upside here. While Bloomington North has struggled majorly this season, Cross Jr has been one of the brighter spots as he is a freshman lead guard that plays with maturity and solid IQ. Has a lot of length for his age and is a player that is going to get better and better throughout his high school career. Excited to see what he can do against Fishers’ freshman guards.
Everyone knows who Keenan Garner Keenan Garner 6’6″ | PF Fishers | 2024 State IN is at this point, but man is this prospect having just a great senior year. Garner came into this season as one of the player that Fishers was needing to step up this season and he has exceeded expectations. The 6’6 power forward is averaging over 17 points per game is showing so much improvement than what we have seen over the past few years. He will be one of the most dominant players in the gym in this event.
