Myers Park High (4-2)
The Mustangs are 4-2 on the year playing a national schedule and 1-0 already in the South Meck Conference standings with a 68-29 victory over Palisades High. They’re looking like a favorite in the 4A West to win another state title so far, though they’ll have plenty of competition to fend off. Bishop Boswell Bishop Boswell 6'4" | PG Myers Park | 2024 State #68 Nation NC is playing strong at the point guard while junior forward/wing Sadiq White continues to draw the eyes of high-major programs. Sir Mohammed Sir Mohammed 6'6" | SG Myers Park | 2024 State #83 Nation NC looks like he’s healthy and they’ve got some unsigned senior pieces in Jacob Paraison Jacob Paraison 6'4" | CG Myers Park | 2024 State NC and Ashton King Ashton King 6'4" | CG Myers Park | 2025 State NC . Their national schedule should do a ton to prepare them for another run at a state crown. They’re a group with depth and versatility that opposing teams will have a hard time defending.
South Mecklenburg High (7-0)
The Sabres are unbeaten on the season at 7-0 and currently 3-0 in South Meck Conference action as the holiday break approaches. They’ve beaten Berry and Palisades and a one-point victory over Olympic High, 53-52. They won’t return to conference play until Jan. 16 but they’ll be well-prepared with games against Mooresville High on Tuesday and Richmond County and Ardrey Kell still on the schedule. Peter Moye Peter Moye 6'3" | SG South Mecklenburg | 2024 State NC , Anderson Skelton Anderson Skelton 6'4" | CG South Mecklenburg | 2024 State NC and Ben Houpt Ben Houpt 6'4" | SG South Mecklenburg | 2026 State NC are the three names to key in on with this group. Moye remains unsigned despite posting 20.1 PPG, 4.4 RPG and 3.0 APG on 60 percent shooting from the field. Skelton is committed to Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Houpt is a budding sophomore producing 9.6 PPG, 3.9 APG and 3.6 RPG on 37 percent shooting from deep. He put up a career-high 24 points against Palisades High on a career-best seven made 3-pointers this past Friday.
Ardrey Kell High (8-3)
The Knights have won seven games and counting including a 75-69 victory over Berry for their first win in South Meck Conference action on the young season. Unsigned senior Caden Caskey Caden Caskey 6'2" | SG Ardrey Kell | 2024 State NC has been the latest name to emerge in their backcourt as he’s led the charge with his shooting prowess. He’s a 6-foot-2 shooting guard averaging 21.5 PPG on 42 percent shooting from deep so far this season. He’s slowly showing his growth as a perimeter threat while Delani Hammonds Delani Hammonds 6'0" | CG Ardrey Kell | 2024 State NC and 2025 guard Brett Freeman Brett Freeman 6'4" | PG Ardrey Kell | 2025 State NC show off what they can do in the backcourt. Hammonds has posted 13.3 PPG, 8.0 APG, 6.4 RPG and 2.4 SPG and remains an underrated floor general in the region. Freeman has come on strong over the Knight’s last four games, averaging 17.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG and 2.5 APG alongside Hammonds. They’re an underrated group to keep an eye on in the conference.
