Heading into their junior year, we have a lot of movement and new additions to this group. However, there will always be omissions and debates regarding placement among the rankings.
Here’s a look at part one of the wings rankings, looking at some of the best shooting guards and small forwards in the rankings.
25) Mason Patrick Mason Patrick 6'4" | SF Trinity Episcopal | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Trinity Episcopal (#74 Overall)
Patrick is set to be a breakout player in the Richmond area this year after the big summer and fall he had, as he showed he can score the ball in a variety of ways with his size and skill. He’s a smooth wing who can play on or off the ball, he’s a knock down shooter from deep who can make shots on the move and he gets downhill and finishes well at the basket with both hands.
24) Alex Etheridge Alex Etheridge 6'3" | SG Kellam | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SG | Kellam (#69 Overall)
Etheridge was quietly one of the top players in the Beach last year, and he’ll likely take another jump as the go-to guy for Kellam this year. The 6’3” two guard is a cerebral player who knows how to move off the ball to get open and sets his feet quickly, he can drill it from deep and attacks closeouts to get to the pull-up and he makes the right play consistently on both ends of the floor.
23) Zekiah Bradley-Gilbert | 6’6” SF | Christchurch (#64 Overall)
Bradley-Gilbert is a very intriguing prospect with his blend of size, athleticism and skillset, and as he continues to develop he’ll be worth coaches taking the trip to Deltaville. He has long arms and uses his length defensively to challenge shots and rebound, he has good ball skills with the ability to put it on the deck and knock down shots and he can guard and play multiple positions as well.
22) Aiden Caulker Aiden Caulker 6'4" | SG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SG | Bishop O’Connell (#62 Overall)
Caulker sometimes gets overshadowed on a very talented O’Connell team chock full of high major talent, but he always finds a way to be impactful when he’s on the floor. At 6’4” he can play on or off the ball and handles pressure well as a secondary ball handler, he gets downhill aggressively and knows how to use his body to finish through contact and he can knock down shots when he’s off the ball too.
21) Dwayne Tucker Dwayne Tucker 6'3" | SF Skyline | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SF | Skyline (#60 Overall)
Tucker is one of the more underrated and unknown players in the rankings after he had a breakout sophomore year, and he could be one of the most productive players in the Winchester area this year. The 6’3” wing is a physical specimen as he’s big and strong with good athleticism, he plays with a great motor and makes plays on both ends of the floor and he is an excellent finisher in the midrange and at the rim as well.
20) Alex McFarlane Alex McFarlane 6'5" | SG Hayfield | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SG | Hayfield (#55 Overall)
McFarlane is part of a new group of Hayfield players that will become well known over the season, and he’s going to be one of their best and has a lot of upside moving forward. At 6’5” he has great size not he wing to go along with good length and athleticism, he shoots it well from deep off the catch, gets to spots off the bounce and he will only get better and better over the year as he gets more used to his role.
19) Chance Perkins | 6’2” SG | Highland School (#53 Overall)
Perkins should probably be higher on this list when it’s all said and done, and while he gets overshadowed at times with all the talent on Highland he has shown he can flat out score the ball with the best of them. He has effortless range from well beyond the arc both off the bounce and off the catch, he can create in isolation situations, he shoots the pull-up well and he can get hot quickly and has takeover ability when he gets it going.
18) Stuart Cosby Stuart Cosby 6'6" | SF St. Christopher's | 2025 State VA | 6’6” SF | St. Chris (#51 Overall)
Cosby has emerged as one of the more intriguing up and coming players in the Richmond area, and he could have a breakout year as the second option for St. Chris this year as he continues to get better and more confident. At 6’6” he has great size on the wing and knows how to use his size to get to spots and rise up and knock down shots in the midrange, he’s a deadly shooter from deep off the catch and he has great instincts on both ends of the floor.
17) Gabe D’Allesandro | 6’3” SG | St. Anne’s Belfield (#49 Overall)
D’Allesandro is another player that at times can get overshadowed as he shares the backcourt with three of the best players in the state, but he’ll be their x-factor this year because when he plays well he’ll be able to free up the other guys. He has a mix of toughness and skillset that is intriguing as he has good size and can play on or off the ball, he hits shots from all three levels when he’s left open, he has a good IQ as a passer and playmaker and he competes hard on both ends of the floor.
16) Alex Pisis | 6’5” SF | Catholic (#47 Overall)
Pisis is a new name to keep an eye on and could shoot up the rankings as we see him more, as the French native will play an important role for a Catholic team that is looking to make another deep run in the state tournament like last year. So far he’s been impressive as he has good size and the European style of game as he’s skilled, savvy, crafty and knows how to impact the game both as a shooter and scorer as well as a playmaker and defender.
