Heading into their junior year, we have a lot of movement and new additions to this group. However, there will always be omissions and debates regarding placement among the rankings.
Here’s a look at part two of the wings rankings, looking at some of the best shooting guards and small forwards in the rankings.
15) Anthony Saunders Anthony Saunders 6'2" | SG Edison | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SG | Edison (#41 Overall)
Saunders is coming off a good summer with New World on the 3SSB Circuit, and is set to be one of the top players in the NOVA public schools this year. The 6’3” wing is a strong and athletic player who can get downhill and is a very good finisher around the rim, he can knock down shots from deep and in the midrange as well and he does a lot of little things to help his team win games too.
14) Danzelle Coles Danzelle Coles 6'5" | SG St Anne Belefield | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SG | St. Anne’s Belfield (#35 Overall)
Coles was a standout at Highland Springs in Richmond and won a state championship a few years ago, and this year he decided to transfer to STAB and reclassify and joins two other 2025 prospects that are being recruited at the division one level. Coles can best be described as just a ball player who gets the job done, he has a great frame and a good handle to be able to create space and get to the rim and he can get hot quickly and take over games as a lethal scorer.
13) Colby White Colby White 6'5" | SF Blue Ridge | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Blue Ridge (#34 Overall)
White may be a little too low on this list and going into his junior season at Blue Ridge he’ll have a chance to make a name for himself on this talented team that will make another deep run in the state tournament. The 6’5” wing has a ton of impressive tools as a prospect with his length and athleticism that makes him a menace in transition, he is a good ball handler for his position and can make plays for others, he’s a versatile defender and his offensive game continues to come along every time we see him.
12) Shane Crissman Shane Crissman 6'6" | SG Miller School | 2025 State VA | 6’6” SG | Riverside (#31 Overall)
Crissman is one that will really impress college coaches when they get eyes on him, as he checks boxes with his size on the wing and is one of the top shooters in NOVA right now. He has effortless range from deep with a quick release and good footwork to get into his shot, he gets hot quickly from deep and doesn’t need a lot of space to get his shot off and he has supreme confidence in his shooting ability too.
11) Desmond Rose Desmond Rose 6'6" | SF John Marshall | 2025 State VA | 6’7” SF | John Marshall (#28 Overall)
Rose is a player that is trending in the right direction, and he’ll be a very vital piece for this John Marshall team that will play a national schedule again this year. The 6’7” wing brings a lot of versatility to his team on both ends as he can play and guard both in the paint and on the perimeter, he’s a good secondary ball handler who can get downhill, he’s a good athlete who plays above the rim and he can make shots when he’s left open too.
10) Justin Burrough Justin Burrough 6'6" | SF Norfolk Collegiate | 2025 State VA | 6’6” SF | Norfolk Collegiate (#24 Overall)
Burrough is set for a big junior season on a NoCo team that is going to be very good this year with a lot of pieces in their junior class. At 6’6” he has a prototypical frame for a prospect at the next level and is an above average athlete to go along with it, he has good ball skills as he can handle and make shots from deep off the catch and he is physical in the paint as a rebounder and finisher too.
9) Tim Walker Tim Walker 6'3" | SG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SG | Bishop O’Connell (#22 Overall)
Walker transferred to O’Connell from St. Mary’s Ryken and is making his debut in the VA rankings, as he is another big addition to an already talented O’Connell team that will be one of the top teams in the country. The 6’3” wing has great intangibles as he’s a excellent defender both on and off the ball and plays with a great motor, he can play on or off the ball for his team, he scores it well from multiple levels and he’s an unselfish playmaker too.
8) Sebastian Whitfield Sebastian Whitfield 6'5" | SF Cape Henry | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Cape Henry (#19 Overall)
Whitfield is one of the more underrated players in the 757 if not the entire state, and he is set to have a huge junior season for Cape as their go-to guy this year. At 6’5” Whitfield has a strong frame and is a big time athlete who can play above the rim and is a good rebounder, he can drill it from deep off the catch, he gets to spots in the midrange and he’s very good at drawing contact and getting to the line too.
7) Ryan Crotty Ryan Crotty 6'6" | SG Miller School | 2025 State VA | 6’6” SG | Miller School (#17 Overall)
Crotty transfers to Miller School from Raleigh, NC and has immediately stepped in and showed that he’s one of the top shooters in the entire state already. The 6’6” two guard is absolutely lights out from deep with great form and a quick release, but it’s the way he works off the ball and sets his feet quickly on the move that really separates him from other shooters. He’s a tough minded defender who gives great effort on both ends of the floor, he can attack closeouts and is a good finisher at the rim and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win.
6) Sincere Jones Sincere Jones 6'7" | SF Churchland | 2025 State VA | 6’7” SF | Churchland (#16 Overall)
There aren’t many players in this class that have the upside of Jones, who checks the boxes physically and athletically and is a very productive player as well. The 6’7” wing is an absolute bully who can rebound and carve out space when he gets downhill, and he’s an explosive finisher who is fearless at the rim and can put defenders on a poster easily. He can make shots off the catch from deep, is an impact defensively with his size and athleticism and has all the raw talent in the world moving forward.
