Best Scorer
Braylon Patton Braylon Patton 6'1" | PG Hueytown | 2025 State AL (6’1/PG/’25/Hueytown HS)

Braylon is an absolute scoring machine. I could not verify it, but they told me he scored 30+ on day one of the tournament. He is an absolute scoring juggernaut, a walking bucket, whatever you want to call him. He has open-floor speed, shifty handles, functional control of his body, and burst off the dribble. He scores at all levels and carries his squad’s scoring load. This was my first time putting eyes on him, but many people had been telling me about him, and I was very impressed with what I saw. He has a knack for scoring and does it in a variety of ways. He must stay in the weight room as he eyes the next level.
Best Three Point Shooter
Mehkai Menefee Mehkai Menefee 6'4" | SG Dothan | 2024 State AL (6’4/SG/’24/Dothan HS)
IG: mehkai_
X/Twitter: @mehkaimenefee
Mehkai can absolutely get it done from behind the arc. He has good positional size and is a threat whenever he touches the ball. He has to be accounted for as soon as he crosses half-court, which allows his backcourt teammates to have gaps to penetrate as his man cannot help off him. With his size and ability to stretch the floor, he will find a place at the next level. He knocked down 6 three-pointers in the match-up against Wetumpka. He will have to get better on the defensive end of the floor as he eyes the next level.
Best Rebounder
JJ Bush JJ Bush 6'3" | SF Theodore | 2026 State AL (6’3/SF/’26/Theodore HS)
IG: jj.glizzy4
X/Twitter: @JJBush12
JJ is listed as a small forward but has to play a lot in the paint for his squad. He is undersized, but his physical play allows him to battle with bigger, taller, and stronger post players. He is quick off his feet and does a good job establishing rebounding position, which is one of the reasons he was the best rebounder I saw on day 2. He boards at a high rate, is the glue guy for his squad, and is the ultimate workhorse.
Best Shot Blocker
Jonathan Burnett Jonathan Burnett 6'8" | C Hueytown | 2026 State AL (6’8/PF|C/’26/Hueytown HS)
IG: LongLivePruitt
X/Twitter: @jonathanburn55
Jonathan is a lengthy interior presence who does a good job on the glass and protecting the rim on defense. He is surrounded by some good frontcourt players, making his continued development easy. He is not looked upon for scoring, but whatever scoring he brings is a bonus. The strength of his game right now is anchoring the paint and contesting everything that attempts to come inside. He did a good job blocking shots, and if he could not block it, he altered quite a few.
Best Floor General
Korbin Long Korbin Long 5'10" | PG Spain Park | 2024 State AL (5’10/PG/’24/Spain Park HS)
IG: _Korbinlong2_
Korbin is a relentless competitor who plays with a lot of grit and tenacity. He looked very comfortable running the show for the Jaguars and was in complete control of the lead guard responsibilities. He does a good job balancing scoring and facilitating and has a great understanding of when he needs to be in which mode. He controls the tempo and keeps his squad in rhythm. He values the ball and limits his turnovers, which makes him a trustworthy ball-handler. I have to say that Spain Park is in good hands this year.
Best Stock Riser
Nate Rogers Nate Rogers 5'11" | PG Wetumpka | 2024 State AL (5’11/PG/’24/Wetumpka HS)

This was my first time laying eyes on Nate, and he took full advantage of the stage. He showed his ability to be a dynamic scorer from all levels. He does a good job changing speeds, embracing contact off the bounce, and finishing through contact in the paint. He was one of the best iso scorers on day two and did a good job creating his own shot when his team’s offense was stagnant. He has a brilliant floor game, makes tough shots, and is loaded with an unrivaled offensive repertoire. Look for him to make some moves in our next 2024 rankings.
Best Emerging Prospect
Trey Davis Trey Davis 6'0" | PG Mountain Brook | 2026 State AL (6’0/PG/’26/Mountain Brook HS)

Being in the shadows of the #1-player in the 2024 class is one thing, but being his younger brother is an entirely different thing, as it brings a lot of expectations. Then, when your play makes a case that you are one of the brightest and emerging prospects in the state, the expectations increase even more. Then, on day 2 of the tournament that your team is hosting, you lead your team in scoring while your brother, the #1-ranked player in the 2024 class, the Creighton signee, is in foul trouble most of the game, not only do the expectations increase but your stock increases as well. There will be a ton of more ink put on Trey, so let me just say this…GET READY!
