The Pea Ridge point guard is off to a great start to the 2023 season. Davenport and Pea Ridge opened up the season against the Greenwood Bulldogs on Monday night. Davenport had the opportunity to showcase his smooth jumper and high motor. He racked up 16 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block on the night. Davenport is a player that stays active on both ends of the court and he put that on display on Monday night this week.

When discussing point guards that got off to a hot start this week, you must include Jordyn Gamble Jordyn Gamble 5'2" | PG Helena-West Helena Central | 2026 State AR in the conversation. He filled up the stat sheet on Monday night this week. Gamble was hitting from all over the court. He racked up 44 points, 18 steals, 6 boards, and 8 assists to start the season. Gamble opened some eyes this week and he is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next couple of seasons.

Jacob Lanier Jacob Lanier 6'6" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR has opened plenty of eyes over the past few months. Lanier showcased his ability to drive through the lane and finish above the rim. He racked up 13 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, and 3 assists to start the season. Lanier has shown that he can keep that motor going on both ends of the court. Lanier has the potential to have a strong 2023 season the tip off of the season was a firm indicator of that statement.

Layne Taylor Layne Taylor 5'11" | PG Farmington | 2024 State AR and Farmington displayed why they are tough a team to matchup against on Monday night. Taylor did an excellent job of finding his teammates on Monday night. Taylor put up 15 points and 10 assists on Monday night. The Cardinals and Taylor reached the state championship game a year ago and they are a combination to watch out for this season. Taylor is a prospect to watch out for before he suits up for North Texas next season.
