We’ve had a ton of talented players over the last few decades of players, let’s see who is up next on the big stage that’s going to make the right basketball plays night in and night out.
Hayden Fredrick- Hayden has an interesting style to his game. He’s not the explosive guard that you want to see but he’s that skilled guard. He stays on the ground, doesn’t try to get on the rim, is an elite ball handler, is an excellent passer, and is an excellent shooter. What’s most impressive is his IQ for the game, he’s experienced in all facets and can really slice and dice the defense when he has the ball.
Avant Riley Avant Riley 5'9" Derby | 2027 KS – One of the smoothest players you’ll watch this season. Great footwork, an understands angle, and a change of pace, he has all the tools right now so you can only imagine how he will look by his senior season. Avant has a nice high release point and it’s quick. He loves to iso and creates great separation on his moves allowing himself to get his shot off over his opponents. From our PH showcase in Kansas City to tryouts you can tell he’s physically improving his body and working on his game. Derby will be exciting to watch with Riley coming in.
Charlie Oakman Charlie Oakman 6'2" Maize | 2027 KS – Charlie is a beast no matter the time of day. He plays every game like it’s his last with his constant pursuit of the basketball on the glass and how hard he plays defense. He loves the game of basketball and you can tell by the passion he plays with on a nightly basis. He showed in his team’s summer league that he has added the 3-point shot to his game and can drive it both ways now. As he adds options to his game and becomes more fluid in his game, he will take off. He still has some hiccups from being put at the center all his life so his movements aren’t completely smooth like you want but he has time to develop into the college guard you want.
Jeremiah Abbington- Jeremiah is a player it is hard not to be high on with his potential and skill set. The lefty can put it on the floor, shoot the 3 ball, and has all the instincts you need. You can tell its potential based on the consistency in his shooting and decision making but he’s extremely coachable and showed us some big-time flashes of the type of player that he can be. If he fully develops his finishing ability and options around the rim he will be a problem to be wrecking with.
Kamarri Jennings- Let us ask ourselves this, who can really stay in front of Jennings? He has to be the fastest player on the court whenever he steps on it. He understands his quickness is his advantage so he uses it to the best of his abilities by blowing by defenders and setting himself up or his teammates. He’s not afraid to knock down the 3-pointer and get to the rim with the trees. His game will elevate over the next 4 years with him learning to change his pace better and utilizing the floater giving him an extra 6-to 8 points a game.
