Opening Week Action: New Guards

He's got the quick first step to beat the initial defender and good vision while driving in to beat the second defender or dish it back out. He's got a really strong left hand drive and was pretty shifty maneuvering through defenders. Played tough defense, had the burst to recover when beat, and did a good job setting the offensive pace. Unfortunately, he left the game some time in the third quarter with what looked like a rolled ankle. At 6-foot-5 he has the wingspan to be disruptive on the ball and make some plays near the hoop. I can see some defensive potential there but also some ability as a 3-point threat. He was close to making some nice plays off the dribble early on in the game that could've help make the game closer but showed great vision for attacking gaps and making key passes. Hobson is a long guard/wing with a nice two-way makeup. There was a ton of size on the court for their game against Ellensburg and Hobson did a great job getting to the middle, hitting mid-range pullups, and following shots inside, even tipping in his own miss once or twice. He played with the confidence and well-rounded game of an older player. He shot the three well, knew when to push in transition and took care of the rock.
