- In the game that I attended on Tuesday night Zionsville defeated Sectional 8 rival Carmel 57-40. The Eagles built an early lead and never looked back. 6’6″ junior guard Maguire Mitchell Maguire Mitchell 6'5" | SG Zionsville | 2025 State IN was the star of the evening scoring 29 points while junior guard Jackson Tielker added 13 points including three three-pointers in the first quarter that got Zionsville rolling. Mitchell dominated off of the bounce driving it right aggressively and playing above the rim at the end of his drives. He also knocked in a trio of three-pointers on the evening.
- We can’t proceed any further without mentioning Kasym Nash Kasym Nash 6'0" | SG Borden | 2024 State IN . The Borden High School senior went off for 51 points on opening night in a 77-53 win over Eastern (Pekin).
- Grant Porath Grant Porath 6'1" | SG Brownsburg | 2024 State IN , a senior guard for Brownsburg, scored a game-high 22 points as the Bulldogs won at North Central 52-48.
- After going 33-0 and winning the Class 4A state championship a year ago, Ben Davis fell on opening night to Fishers 74-61. Senior forward Keenan Garner Keenan Garner 6'6" | PF Fishers | 2024 State IN paced the Tigers with 21 points while freshman guard Cooper Zackery and Huntington signee Taden Metzger each added 13 points.
- Kokomo dominated Western 69-22 with junior point guard Zion Bellamy Zion Bellamy 5'8" | PG Kokomo | 2025 State IN leading the way scoring 16 points. Senior wing Karson Rogers Karson Rogers 6'6" | PF Kokomo | 2024 State IN added 15 points while Kansas signee Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN finished with 9 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
- Bethel signee Payton Baird Payton Baird 6'5" | SF South Bend Riley | 2024 State IN scored 27 points and grabbed 6 rebounds as South Bend Riley rolled over LaPorte 81-51.
- Lawrence Central defeated Mount Vernon (Fortville) 54-52 in one of the most competitive games of the night. Robert Puckett Robert Puckett 6'2" | SF Lawrence Central | 2025 IN scored 17 points to lead the Bears while the Marauders got 15 points each from sophomores Julien Smith Julien Smith 5'10" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2026 State IN and R’Mani Wells.
- Brebeuf Jesuit took down Cardinal Ritter 68-47. Senior wing Reis Butcher Reis Butcher 6'4" | SF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2024 State IN scored 23 points while Butler signee Evan Haywood Evan Haywood 6'4" | SG Brebeuf Jesuit | 2024 State #231 Nation IN finished with 17 points.
- Senior guard Sam Mlagan Sam Mlagan 6'2" | PG Bethesda Christian | 2024 State IN finished with 21 points in a 52-40 win for Bethesda Christian over University.
- The Tipton Blue Devils defeated Tri-Central 80-34. Senior guard Jackson Money scored a game-high 20 points while junior guard Grady Carpenter Grady Carpenter 6'5" | PG Tipton | 2025 State IN added 17 points and 13 assists. Senior guard Nolan Swan Nolan Swan 5'10" | PG Tipton | 2024 State IN chipped in 12 points and 5 assists.
- Sophomore sharp-shooter Kasen Daeger Kasen Daeger 6'3" | SG Silver Creek | 2026 State IN shot 7-11 from three-point range on his way to a game-high 31 points as Silver Creek defeated Floyd Central 80-61.
- Isaac Andrews Isaac Andrews 6'1" | SG Wapahani | 2024 State IN scored 28 points in his season-opener as Wapahani defeated Muncie Central 60-51. Camden Bell Camden Bell 6'1" | PG Wapahani | 2026 State IN added 15 points for the Raiders.
- Morgan Township began the season with a 75-58 win over Lowell. Senior guard Keagen Holder Keagen Holder 6'2" | PG Morgan Township | 2024 State IN scored a game-high 30 points.
