Prep Hoops Arkansas updates the player rankings several times a year. We look at who is moving up the rankings, new players, and we evaluate players that play the positions well. In this article, we shine a spotlight on the players that are moving up the rankings in the class of 2025. Here are some prospects to watch out for throughout the course of the 2023 season.   [player_tooltip player_id='2021821' first='Courtland' last='Muldrew']-Point Guard-Springdale Har-Ber-6'3”   [player_tooltip player_id='2021821' first='Courtland' last='Muldrew'] has taken his impressive summer circuit work and brought it into the fall. The Har-Ber guard is off to an excellent start to the season. From a shooting perspective, he is a player that can light it up from anywhere on the court. Muldrew drives through the lane, absorbs the contact, and still finishes with points. He passes the ball well and has no trouble finding the open teammate. Muldrew is active on both ends of the court and can force the opponent into making mistakes with the ball. He is a player to watch out for throughout the rest of the season.   [player_tooltip player_id='2021864' first='Kelen' last='Smith']-Combo Guard-Jonesboro-6'1”   The Jonesboro guard is a prospect that can handle the ball well and shoot the ball with impressive consistency. Smith passes the ball well and is unselfish with the basketball. He is a player on the offensive end that can heat up quickly and rack up the points in bunches. Meanwhile, he keeps his hands active on the defensive end of the court. Smith works for rebounds and can force the opponent into getting careless with the basketball.   [player_tooltip player_id='2021853' first='Xavier' last='Brown']-Combo Guard-Fayetteville-5'10”   [player_tooltip player_id='2021853' first='Xavier' last='Brown'] is a guard that handles the point guard duties well. He knows where his teammates are going to be on the court and does a great job of hitting the open man. Brown has the ability to take opposing defenders off of the dribble. Brown has a smooth jumper and has the range to hit from deep with consistency. He keeps his hands active on the defensive end and can pressure the opponent on being careless with the basketball. Brown is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.   [player_tooltip player_id='2021782' first='Aiden' last='Gazaway']-Small Forward-Springdale-6'7”   The Springdale forward is a prospect that can terrorize opposing defenses in the paint. Gazaway is a player that battles in the paint for points and grabs plenty of boards. He has the range to hit the deep ball with impressive consistency. Gazaway defends well on the defensive end of the court. He is a player that opening plenty of eyes to kick off the season. Gazaway is a prospect to keep an eye on throughout the course of the season.   [player_tooltip player_id='2021826' first='Zane' last='Pennington']-Scoring Guard-Lake Hamilton-6'3”   Lake Hamilton is a team that is loaded with talented prospects. Pennington is accurate shooter from all areas of the court. He can step outside and drain the shot with consistency. Pennington is a good defender and will make opposing players work for a shot. Pennington snags rebounds and does the dirty work on the defensive end of the court. Lake Hamilton is a team to watch out for this season.
