Continue ReadingWhat impressed me the most was his ability to play multiple positions. One time down the floor he would be bringing the ball up the court then the next down the court he is playing the high post. Douglas did a great job running him off baseline screens which led to wide-open attempts that he knocked down consistently. Even when he wasn’t hitting shots, he was setting up his teammates in the right spots to get easy attempts. He is a great prospect that a bunch of teams at the next level need to elevate their program.
Lemons is a glue guy that every team needs to succeed. He controls the game by knowing when to push the basketball and when to slow it down. He is an exceptional ball handler who is an expert at the push and pull. When he gets around the rim, he has a variety of shots he can use to finish over defenders. When he is on the defensive end, he does a great job of talking his team through mistakes and encouraging them when they get down. I see him as one of the ultimate floor generals who can instantly make a team better at the next level.

Nichols is a guy who is highly overlooked at McLain. He understands how and when to pick his spots on the offensive end of the ball. What surprised me the most is when you look at him, it doesn’t appear that he is that athletic, but he was on a semi-break and glided through the air for a dunk. If he gets beat, he has no issues making the extra effort to get back in front of his man. On the defensive end, he showed his athleticism by getting a chase-down block when the opponent thought he had an easy wide-open lay-up. From the time I watched him, he pays closer attention to the defensive side of the ball than he does offensively and I think this will be to his advantage at the next level.

Jarrel Colbert Jr.
Colbert is a guy that is very explosive off the dribble. He doesn’t have as much of a presence offensively as he does defensively. He does a great job crashing the boards and giving his team second-chance opportunities on the offensive end of the floor. He is an anchor on the defensive end that helps with being able to cover up teammates’ shortcomings on the defensive side of the basketball. He is somebody who can guard multiple positions and be able to make it tough on somebody on the perimeter. From what I saw I think he understands how to play within himself and knows his deficiencies and it will allow him to maximize his role and fit into multiple types of systems.
Antonio Love Jr.
Antonio Love Jr.
Love is a catch-and-shot guy who understands how to relocate when his man goes to help with penetration. He does a great job doing his work early so that when he catches the basketball all he must do is catch and shoot. On the defensive side of the basketball, he is relentless in pressuring the basketball and makes it tough for the ball handler to get the ball up the court comfortably. The intensity that he plays with is very contagious and he has no problem committing to guarding the best perimeter player on the other team.

Crosslen is a guy who understands how to get to his spots. He always plays within himself and focuses on catch-and-shot threes or one-dribble pull-ups. On the defensive end, he does a great job In using his length when he gets beat to contest shots without fouling. Even if he can’t get the block he will be able to disrupt it and turn the opponent’s great shot into a ok or bad shot. Crosslen length gives him the advantage of being able to get shots off on smaller defenders and because you can never get him to speed up he will always be able to get what he wants on that side of the basketball. He is a young guy who has a chance to get taller and can turn into a serious prospect as his career continues.
