Q&A with coach Todd Neuendorf
PHD: Could you write a couple sentences summing up last season?
“We had a young squad with only two Seniors and grew throughout the year. We qualified for the State Tournament for the first time in 30 years and took home a Third-Place finish, losing to Dakota Valley in the semi-final game. We finished the season with a 21-4 record.“
PHD: How did the offseason go for your team/program?
“We had a very good offseason as a team and individually. We had 7 of our players play on AAU teams and had great summers. As a team, we played in our 4 team camps and spent considerable time in the gym and weight room working on skills and strength.“
PHD: Who are a few of your top players to look out for?
“We return four starters and 6 of our 8 core players from a year ago.“
“ Tyson Stevenson Tyson Stevenson 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2024 State SD (Sr) – Tyson was our leading scorer a year ago and had a great football season. Tyson can score from anywhere on the floor.“
“Easton Neuendorf (Jr) – Easton was our second-leading scorer and led the team in assists. Easton has the ability to score at all levels, he is the one who makes us go.“
“ Zac VanMeeteren Zac VanMeeteren 6'6" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (Jr) – Zac is a player who can play both inside and shoot it from the perimeter. Zac is an excellent defender and is very athletic.“
“ Jackson Wadsworth Jackson Wadsworth 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2026 State SD (Soph) – Jackson started for us last year as a Freshman. Jackson can really shoot the basketball. Jackson has worked very hard this off-season and has become an excellent defender.“
PHD: Who are a couple of up-and-comers to look out for?
“These guys aren’t really up-and-comers…they played for us last season but were hurt for part of the season.“
“ Evan Stormo Evan Stormo 6'3" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (Jr) – Was hurt for the first ten games of last season. Evan will be a key to our success. He is a strong athletic player who can really lock down and guard. Offensively Evan is a scorer.“
“ Dawson Noem Dawson Noem 6'4" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (Jr) – Is a strong athletic player who can defend in the post. Offensively he has the ability to stretch the floor.“
“ Turner Stevenson Turner Stevenson 5'11" | SG Hamlin | 2025 State SD (Jr) – Played on our JV team last season. He had a good summer and will play a big role on this year’s team.“
PHD: What style of basketball will your team play?
“We want to get up and down the floor. We feel we play our best in transition. We have a number of athletic players and we want to put them in a position to be successful. Defensively we are going to concentrate on mainly our man defense. We think we have the ability to switch four to 5 spots if need be.“
PHD: What are a couple of your team goals this year?
“Our number 1 goal is to return to the State Tournament. We want to improve each game and play our best basketball at the end of the year.“
PHD: Who are some of the top teams in your Class A?
