Brendan Moodie, 5’8 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2025
Watching Moodie, you quickly note his natural hoop IQ and intuition on the floor. Brendan’s a smart player who works well on the ball or off with his solid handle, reading of the defense, and heady movement. Moodie creates space nicely with his cutting and utilization of screens, finding his spots from 3 to rise up or little avenues to snake down and get into the lane. Or he’ll organize the O and facilitate from there. All those smarts carry over defensively, and while he may be undersized, he won’t be outsmarted. Brendan’s a savvy little guard.
Jerrick Jacobs, 5’9 G – Richford H.S. Class of 2025
A lively PG with extreme speed and quickness, Jerrick covers a whole lot of ground in a flash. He’s an adept slasher, using his tight handle and explosive first step to slip by defenders and rise up to the rim with his impressive athleticism. Moreover, his 3-ball has developed nicely, finding space in the pnr to launch or snake into the second layer. And when the defense collapses, he has the vision and sense to find opportunities for teammates. A fierce defender who hawks ballhandlers and disrupts passing lanes, Jacobs is a force for Richford.
Hunter Clay, 5’10 G – Thetford Academy Class of 2025
The competent, heady Hunter Clay runs the show for Thetford. He’s a strong ballhandler who takes care of the rock, organizes the O, and sets guys up. Moreover, he’s a smart off-ball player with savvy cutting and exploitation of defensive holes, able to find his stroke off the catch from deep or easy lays at the rim. With his strong frame and hardnosed defense, Clay gets into his matchup with good agility and anticipation. Clay keeps Thetford running smoothly.
Xavier Hill, 6’3 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2024
Hill has been a pillar for Hazen the last couple years, and they’ve been consistent features atop D3 for years. Xavier is a rangy lead guard who balances his scoring with his facilitation. He’s a strong shooter who can rise over the top of defenders or slip into the second layer, and when the help comes, Hill makes good reads and feeds open teammates. On the defensive end, his coverage is versatile in that he can cover 1-3, challenge shots, and get a hand in passing lanes. I’m excited to see Hill and what he’s added to his repertoire.
Mitchell Parkman, 6’3 W – Thetford Academy Class of 2024
With Parkman you know it’s going to be a battle. Mitchell is a physical inside/out wing presence who loves to mix it up. He’s a tough slasher and finisher at the rim, and he gets to the FT line often because of it. Moreover, he impacts every play with his hard cutting, chasing down of 50/50s, rebounding on both ends, and general ferocity on both sides of the ball. Parkman covers 2-4, plays his tail off, and backs down from no matchup. Kid plays hard and is a double-double threat any given night in D3.
