Here I will be asking some of the athletes within the 2024 class some questions about how their AAU season went, how they think their upcoming season will be, what stands out most about their game in their own eyes, plus what colleges have shown interest in them behind high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450563' first='Jaxon' last='Dubiel'] - Mountlake Terrace HS

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?

-My aau and summer league went really well. I think I improved my 3 level scoring, as well as my ability to create for my teammates. I think this upcoming season will be huge for us. We have 4/5 starters back and 8 seniors. We've all played with eachother since we were in 5th grade. We hope to contend for a state title this year with the group of guys we got.

What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?

-There's a couple aspects of my game that stand out, one being my effort on the defensive end, I take pride in making plays on the ball and guarding the opposing teams best player. Another is my ability to get out in transition, I think I thrive when I push the ball and can either score or set up my teammates.

What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?

-I feel like my game can fit any type of system and I can do whatever a coach asks me to do. No matter what type of system a coach runs I think I can help a team win. So when looking for a school it really just comes down to who wants to give me a chance and I'll do the rest.

Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?

-I've been in contact with Central Washington a lot and Western Washington, most recently going on a visit to Western in October, that was cool to see the campus and meet the guys. I've also been in contact with George Fox and Whitworth, I went on a visit to George Fox in late September as well.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?

-One area of improvement for me before I move onto the next level will be my body. Obviously you can always get better in every way but I feel I need to improve my body and frame heading into college where I will need to defend and score against bigger and faster guys.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450943' first='Julian' last='Ibarra'] - Quincy HS

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?

-My AAU season was good. I played with a new team and got to travel to new places. It was fun even though I didn't get to play to my full potential since I broke my pinky midway through my season. Summer league, our team did well. We won all but one game. I'm excited for this coming season. I feel our team has the potential to make it far.

What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?

-I feel my IQ for the game, and my footwork is what stands out most. I feel I can find ways not just for myself to score but can also find looks for my teammates. I can also adjust a game to fit my pace to help my team out.

What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?

-I'm looking for a school that will support me and help me to be successful beyond graduation.

Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?

-I have been in contact with a few schools. I've visited Pacific Luthern University and met with Coach Murray.

Big Bend Community, Wenatchee Valley, and Grays Harbor Community College coaches have reached out.

I've also spoken with Coach VanderHyde from Gustavus Adolphus University.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?

-I'd like to improve on my speed and agility. I'm working on it now and hope to improve as the season goes on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612189' first='Champ' last='Powaukee'] - Pullman HS

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?

-I think my aau season went better than my hs summer league I feel like I showed what my true potential was and showed them what I can really do.

What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?

-The aspects that show out are my tireless defensive efforts and I can shoot the ball pretty well, I can show off my athletic ability.

What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?

-I'm looking to play either college basketball or football.

Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?

-The schools I've been in contact with is western Oregon and California east bay.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?

-What I want to improve in before college is my dribbling a little bit more

[player_tooltip player_id='1957667' first='Talan' last='Yearout'] - Raymond HS

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?

-With my AAU this last year, I got to experience so much more than I could ever imagine, playing with some of the best kids in WA. I definitely grew so much more as a player Spring to Summer. I worked my feet work to be able to switch onto guards when its need or smaller opponent. Also, be more efficient from the freethrow line and mid-range as well. As for HS summer ball, unfortunately I didn't have a summer league this year. But during are camp went to for about 4 days, I was on of those players everyone was watching, or talking about putting up about 15-20 points every game and 10+ boards. My outlook for the upcoming, we made it pretty far into districts last year, the closest to state my schools boys Basketball has ever been in 20 years. This year I'm hoping we can do that again, but this time make into state as any seed and succeed as a team.

What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?

-Some aspects of my game that stands out besides my height of course, haha, would be Im very vocal and leader to make sure everyone on the court knows there roles and how to fulfill them perfectly. For myself my ability to clog the inside with my size, block shots, and grab rebounds is my key standouts. But, I can put the ball down when needed on the offensive side and help run plays or get to the basket, but my ability to score inside with high percentage is one the key parts of my game.

What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?

-Outside of High school, I'm wanting to go to college to basketball, everyone's dreams is making it to the NBA or any type of pro league. But, my dream is make to college for basketball and then hopefully make it to the next level after that. If not I would be majoring in Kinesiology to either become a sports trainer or Physical Therapist.

Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?

-As for schools Ive been in contact with is PLU, and Bryan & Stratton College. Which PLU is in the Tacoma area. Where Bryan & Stratton is across the Country in Virginia.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?

-The biggest thing I would definitely like to and need to work on is just shooting the ball more. But also, shooting behind the 3 point line and to be able to do with a high percentage and make them at critical times when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450604' first='Eli' last='Williams'] - North Central HS

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?

-My summer was great got to see a lot awesome cities and also play against some really good players.

What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?

-My game can be explained in many different ways but if I could sum it down it would be a competitive high motor guard that does what ever he can to impact the game.

What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?

-I'm looking for a school that truly wants me and believes in my game.

Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?

-My recruitment process has been rather slow the last off season and i'm completely open to any school.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?

-I need to get my handle tighter and i need to get better at scoring starting off the ball.

Here I will be asking some of the athletes within the 2024 class some questions about how their AAU season went, how they think their upcoming season will be, what stands out most about their game in their own eyes, plus what colleges have shown interest in them behind high school.
