This Showcase was an invite only event, held in the middle of the city featuring players from across four different states. (IL, IN, IA, PA) Out of the 39 athletes that were in attendance, 8 of them are committed to compete at the Division-1 level already while 11 others currently hold Division-1 offers.
This event had a little bit of everything. It had high-level players, great people, a welcoming environment, and an atmosphere that you would need to see to believe. This Showcase is rapidly becoming one of the best throughout the city of Chicago and it’s only going to become more popular as time goes on. With that being said, over the next few days I will be highlighting multiple players from this event that stood out to me.
Whenever I am evaluating several different players at the same time at an event, I like to write down some “lives notes.” These notes are my way of remembering the player and what their capabilities are on the court. With these all being written down in real time, the notes tend to me more brief and to the point.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
“Lefty PG with an aggressive demeanor. Always looking for ways to split the defense, wanting to finish at the rim with some flash. Will shoot the ball on rotation at a quick rate. Strong with all movements on either side of the floor. Would be a player that you could post up on a switch with the strength he displayed. Overall, memorable day.”

“Balance and fundamental in all of his movements. When he shoots, it always comes off with adequate spin and has a chance of going in. Lefty that understands his spacing and the ability of the other players around him. There were a lot of good players at this event, Ford showed that he was one of the most “centered”. Would be interesting in seeing more of.”
“An absolute menace. The type of player that wants to suffocate his opponents throughout a contest. Talks the talk and walks the walk. Shows a little bit of skill in everything he does. Strong moves with a physical demeanor near the rim. Relentless in his pursuit of the basketball. One of the biggest hustlers of the day at this event.”

“Possesses a superior mix of size, athleticism, and skill. Physically dominate compared to most he comes across. Once he gets downhill, I would advice you to get out of the way. Would like to add that at times, he seemed timid and didn’t assert himself like he should have. He is a beast. He needs to know that. With all that being said, was still a top player of the day for me in some categories.”
Highlights
“A mix it up, bully type PG. Plays with great body control while attacking the rim with the ability to change his shot up if defense tries to block him. Knowledgeable with the ball in his hands. Understands his strengths and his opponents weaknesses. Holds himself accountable to his team, even if the mistake wasn’t his fault. Could lead a winning team.”
