He was the best freshman player during the 2022-23 season and is the best underclassman in the city going into 2023-24. The sky is the limit for the lanky 6'3'' wing as he plays out these next three years of eligibility. Rubio led a young Burges High team in scoring last year, coming in just a shade under 17 points per game, and he has the green light. He's a more than capable scorer from range, but he's equally a threat in the paint, given his height. As he grows into his frame and gets more reps at the varsity level, Rubio will be among the top high school recruits to come out of the Sun City by 2026.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"Azaiah Thompson","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"2025","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"6'4u0022","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"77247","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"Ysleta ","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_1_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Coming off a sophomore year where he averaged 19 and 7 per game, it might sound odd to say Azaiah Thompson is due for a breakout junior year, but he is. The Ysleta High Wing has all the measurables and diversified ball skills to break out as one of the top players in El Paso this season. Moreover, he is the cream of the crop for the class of 2025. Standing at 6'4'' with improved verticality, Thompson finishes over most defenders in the paint. But he is more than just a finisher; the junior has ball skills and can score from the perimeter. He's a genuine inside-out scoring threat and arguably the best athlete every time he steps on the court. You can expect to see Thompson on some highlight reels this season.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"Jake Fette","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"2026","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"6'2u0022","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"77248","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"Del Valle","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_2_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"After losing their top two players to graduation last season, Jake Fette enters his sophomore year as Del Valle's best-returning player in arguably his second-best sport. It's a crazy statement to make considering how good Del Valle was last season at 25-9 and even crazier to say considering how good Fette is at quarterback this year for one of the best high school football teams in El Paso. The rising sophomore is a legitimate two-sport athlete. Last season, Fette was more of a role player for the Conquistadors: crashing the offensive and defensive glass, diving for loose balls, playing the passing lanes, etc. However, this season, Fette will undoubtedly be one of Del Valle's major contributors to a program that graduated six seniors last season. The question is: how big of a jump will Fette make this season as an offensive player with an increased scoing role?","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_3_player_details_player_name":"Mudia Gbowa","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_3_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_3_player_details_height":"6'3u0022","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_3_player_details_position":"77247","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_3_player_details_school":"Burges ","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_3_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_3_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Osamudiamen u0022Mudiau0022 Gbowa is one of the more intriguing prospects in the class of 2024. His frame and overall stature indicate he's more of a disruptive Big who likes to play inside. However, he's an athletic wing who likes to float around the perimeter on offense and score from range. Defensively, he has no problem matching up against the opposing team's best offensive player, and at 6'3'', he can guard up and down the lineup. On the AAU circuit, Gbowa shows more guard-oriented skills, but for Burges High, you can expect him to be more of an interior force on the glass and in rim protection this season.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"Antonio Ontiveros ","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"6'2u0022","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"77247","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"Bowie","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_4_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Another dual-sport athlete, Antonio Ontiveros, is the prototypical 3-and-D wing. You can find him catching or breaking up passes on the football field as a two-way receiver/defensive back. And on the basketball court, he does much of the same. He's a sharpshooter on the perimeter and a ball hunter defensively. Last season, Ontiveros had ten games with two or more steals. You can always find him disrupting passing lanes, covering up in help defense, and racking up steals in full-court press. As one of two Bowie seniors heading into the 2023-24 season, he's an absolute tone-setter for their program.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6529c2c475aa9"} /-->
