Early games at the Lone Star State Showdown set the tone fast. The 14U group came out ready to compete. Defense showed up first. Effort showed up every possession. You could see who understands how to win—guards picking up full court, wings moving without the ball, players doing the small things. No wasted motion. No empty stats. These early performers made it clear. They came to impact the game, not just be in it.

Shovan played downhill from the start. He attacked the basket and finished through traffic. No fear in the paint. He picked up defensively and applied pressure. When space opened, he went coast to coast. He stayed in attack mode all game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3258469' first='Anthony' last='Scott'] pushed the pace when it was there. He handled pressure well in the half court. Strong with the ball. No panic. He stayed poised and kept the team moving. Led like a point guard should.

Ryan stayed ready on the catch. Triple threat every time. On the wing, he used a shot fake and ball fake, then attacked the lane. Got downhill through the defense. In the half court, he cut with purpose. Caught it at the high post and hit the cutter. Kept the spacing clean. Kept the offense moving.

Tyler Thornton makes the open three. No hesitation. He can go coast to coast when the lane opens. On defense, he applies constant pressure. Turns his man. Creates deflections and turnovers. He does what the team needs to get going.

Donte Hayes brings size and strength. Long and physical. He takes up space in the lane. Hard to move. He is agile and moves well for his size. He rebounds his area and sets hard screens. Plays like an enforcer. Picked up full court in the press and forced a turnover. He impacts the game without needing touches.
