Here’s a look at the 2026s from the Kansas City area who impressed at the Kansas Top 250 Expo (in alphabetical order):
Jack Carpenter, 6-foot-1 guard, 2026, Mill Valley:
Carpenter stood out as a versatile guy who could just as easily be categorized as a forward for his play on the wing and in the lane. He’s a feisty, scrappy competitor who has length and quickness. He didn’t dominate the ball but rather found ways to make plays in the flow of the game. His athleticism and headiness produced lots of opportunities to make plays. He’s a good ball handler who attacks in transition and runs the floor without the ball. Carpenter is a high-energy, team-first gamer with a lot of skill.
Daniel Davis Daniel Davis 5'5" | PG Mill Valley | 2026 KS , 5-foot-4 guard, 2026, Mill Valley:
Davis was on a pretty undersized group that turned up the tempo and tried to harass their opponents with quickness and tenacity. Because there were several point guards on the team, the lefty guard had to make plays off the ball. He showed he could make plays, particularly in transition. He’s not big, but he’s strong, but he’s lightning-quick and brings tons of energy.
Josiah Thompson, 5-foot-11 guard, 2026, Atchison:
Somewhat similar to Carpenter, Thompson showed he could play off the ball, move into the paint and split out on the wing to make plays. He is a smooth athlete who plays hard and tries to do all the things the team needs. He rebounded and got after it on defense, guarding in the paint and on the perimeter. His versatility and energy will make him a coach’s favorite.
Kael Williams, 6-foot guard, 2026, Atchison:
Williams was grouped with Davis at the Expo, making up a team with tons of quick ballhandlers. He helped turn up the heat on the opposition, attacking in transition and ratcheting up the on-ball defense. A creative guard with some length to him, Williams showed a nice handle and confidence to push the tempo and attack the half-court defense. He made some nice dishes on the drive, showing good vision and anticipation.
