This led to a great weekend of competitive basketball that gave teams a chance to measure themselves against opponents they wouldn’t normally face during the high school season.
Carter Barnes
Carter Barnes
Carter shot the ball very well from three this weekend. The freshman flies around energetically on both ends, giving defenders a lot to think about with his quick first step and the ability to hurt them with the jumper, and on defense causing deflections and grabbing rebounds to ignite fast break opportunities. Barnes projects to be a contributing role player this upcoming season for Crespi.
Isaiah Barnes
Isaiah Barnes
Isaiah looked dynamic as a playmaker this weekend and particularly in transition where his basketball IQ stood out. Similar to his brother, he plays the game with a ton of desire and makes plays all over the court. Barnes projects to be a contributing role player this upcoming season for Crespi.
Stephen has great size and strength for a guard, and performed well offensively this weekend. He shoots the ball effectively from three, can hurt smaller guards in the post and has the strength to finish through contact, and grabs rebounds.
Kingston consistently contributes on both ends. Tosi stretches the floor on the offensive end as a 3 point shooter and attacks the basket with confidence, and on the defensive end he grabs rebounds to ignite fast breaks and generates steals/deflections.
Douglas controlled the glass in most games he played in this weekend. He exercises his influence on the game by scoring inside with post moves and short jumpers, being a good passer in close quarters, and creating extra chances.
Justin looked very strong as one of the lead ball handlers for Sierra Canyon this weekend. He attacked the basket with confidence and aggression, passed the ball well, and turned defensive rebounds into fast break opportunities.
Parker Spees
Parker Spees
Parker has great length and really effected games on the defensive end this weekend. He is constantly changing or blocking shots in the paint and is quick enough to end those same possessions with the rebound. Spees can also stretch the floor on offense a little bit as a 3 point shooter and has good touch around the basket.
Taylor shot the lights out this weekend showing off his excellent catch and shoot ability. He has good defensive instincts as well and uses his long arms to get steals, deflections, and grab rebounds.
