We are also looking at the way players have positioned themselves heading into their senior year. Here is a quick preview of what we expect to see as we have been taking our time looking through these different prospects and placing them in different spots. Keep in mind that the Class of 2024 is loaded.
Moving on Up
Here are a few players that made some moves with some great showings this off-season.
Dauson Gardnier, you might not know the name and that is what happens sometimes when you play in rural Utah and Dauson is out in Uintah and the kid has some game, he is noteworthy because he has next level shooting ability. Might be on the radar if he played at a 5A school or 6A school.
Gabe Cowan Gabe Cowan 6'4" | CG Lehi | 2024 State UT out at Lehi is going to be a steal, the kid can do a lot and he will get some run but he is a player that can make a big leap at the next level, he has size at the guard position.
Tanner Davis Tanner Davis 6'5" | PG Sky View | 2024 State UT , the recent Utah Tech pledge moves up a few spots which is noteworthy because there was a few players that were added above him which pushed a lot of players down, but Tanner has proved his position.
The Top Spot
Well we wish we could give everyone that #1 spot and the player that has held it down for so long and is local might have to make way, but it’s all good because you have more five and four star talent in the state. it is what it is and like we have said before this class is loaded and the D1 talent is impressive.
D1’s
The amount of D1’s we have in the state right now in this class will make for a lot of local talent or players with ties to Utah playing in college in just a few years for sure. We have a minimum of 8 players that have signed D1 already and that is not including the players that have signed letters that will play other sports. We have a few D2 players as well as JUCO kids that have signed as well. Stay tuned. we should have, 16 or D1 players right out of high school and maybe 25+ D1’s in the class when its all said and done.
More to come
Although this is the next re-rankings we will make some additions during the season because we know we will miss someone or someone will come out of nowhere, so we hope to cover more players in due time.
