Take your pick between Martin and his teammate Mason Watkins Mason Watkins 6'2" | PG West Burlington | 2025 State IA for this honor. Both are dynamic players, but we’ll give the slightest edge to the elder Martin, who should lead West Burlington back to the top of the South Division.
First Team
2024 Brady Martin Brady Martin 6'0" | PG West Burlington | 2024 State IA (West Burlington): 17.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.0 steals, 44.9 FG%, 74.1 FT%
A skilled combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, Martin is a good shooter off the dribble, especially in the mid-range area. He has good court vision and is a menace defensively, jumping passing lanes and moving his feet well.
2025 Luke Hellige Luke Hellige 6'5" | SG Holy Trinity Catholic | 2025 State IA (Holy Trinity Catholic): 19.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals, 50.3 FG%, 38.3 3P%, 72.8 FT%
I would expect to see the Crusaders, who bring back all but one player from last year’s team, make a significant jump this season, and Hellige, a versatile 6-4 wing scorer, is a major reason why. He can really shoot it from deep, create for himself, defend multiple spots, and he rebounds exceptionally well.
2025 Brayden Wyrick Brayden Wyrick 6'6" | PF Central Lee | 2025 State IA (Central Lee): 15.8 points, 7.6 rebounds
A big, physical 6-4/6-5 forward, Wyrick has soft hands, good footwork, and solid touch around the rim, able to score on the block with either hand. He pounds the offensive glass hard (3.0 a game) and can protect the paint a bit defensively.
2025 Mason Watkins Mason Watkins 6'2" | PG West Burlington | 2025 State IA (West Burlington): 14.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.0 steals, 38.9 3P%
Watkins is a lightning-quick guard who can get end-to-end about as fast as anyone in the class with the ball in his hands. He’s also a deadly shooter both off the dribble and the catch. He’ll pair with Martin to give the Falcons a dynamic backcourt for the team that should be favored in the division.
2024 Liam Delaney (Notre Dame): 13.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals, 47.3 FG%
The Nikes are almost always in contention in the SEISC, and if that is going to remain the case, Delaney will be the biggest reason why. A 6-3 wing who can get to the rim for finishes, he’s also a solid defender who moves his feet and gets into passing lanes.
