October always ushers in the Fall @PrepHoopsTN Combine. The Battle Ground Academy gym hosted high energy. Read about several of the campers with their evaluations from the day. All of the quoted portions are evaluations from the player’s 5v5 coach, who stayed with them through about 6-7 games (16 min running clock). All measurements/times are listed in the linked article.

Deadly shooter. He hit three three-pointers in the first game, all within the first five minutes. Lewis II owns a big paw (9.0″ span) for a guard. Always aware of the rim. Even when he is scanning the floor, Craig is aware of the rim. Lewis II demonstrated the crispest pre-shot feet. From dribble to shot release there was not a quicker camper.
The knock will always be height. Can he get his shot up over taller guards, which college basketball is heavily populated with? Can he provide a physical deterrent? Probably not on the latter. Quick hands and perfectly set feet will have to be his defensive strategy.
Used his pivot foot cleverly to create and make space with the free foot.
Reminds of a DJ Augustin (NBA retired) kinda player. Undersized point guard that scores in bunches.

Smooth. Dyson defends multiple positions effectively. He gets up so smoothly. Quick. Elam’s Lane Agility was among the best of the day (11.15 seconds). Elam will be a college wing, no doubt. Though he looks to be a scorer in pockets, Elam generally played very supportive, perhaps even too deferential Sunday. Unselfishness is uncommon at showcase events. Dyson showed very few true weaknesses. He needs to add heft, “good weight”. Other than that Elam is a trustworthy, athletic player with a promising future.

Easy riser. Fantastic Euro-dribble. Pearson altered speeds in the lane better than anyone. He gains composure in the last 5′ like a college player.
Trey Pearson Trey Pearson 6'2" | PG Pope Prep | 2026 State TN is undeniably a Top 10/15 player in the Class of 2026, but he did not show his best at this particular event. In moments, Trey was dominant. During the sprints he just did not try his hardest. No question. There seemed to be a little coasting. At this point, Pearson can still do fine without trying his best, but it hopefully is not a habit. Pearson can do it all when he decides to: pass, shoot, dribble, defend. The defense was very special. He ripped two steals in the matter of 10 seconds.
One aspect of Trey’s game that is improving nicely…his strength. Trey showed off some muscle and toughness in the lane, defending and rebounding. He is now stronger than the average big, which is impressive at 6-foot-1. Pearson also clearly understands leverage.
BJ Boyce BJ Boyce 5'8" | PG Collierville | 2024 State TN | PG | Collierville | 2024

BJ Boyce BJ Boyce 5'8" | PG Collierville | 2024 State TN did not have his shot falling, though he did get to the rim and deliver great passes. Unfortunately, his five-on-five team did not finish off many, many of his perfect passes. Boyce was one of the best guards a month ago at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo and just outside the All-Star selections (Top 14) today.
The strengths of Boyce are court awareness, speed with the ball, composure. His body was not 100% during the event and if effected his speed a touch. Speed is typically an attribute he can lean upon. Look for Boyce to have a strong senior season for Collierville.

Lefty. Versatile point guard.
Exceptional shooting consistency. Really smooth. Stunning handle. Kobi is clearly a veteran of skill work and training. His skill advancement stood out even among older players. There are refined moves. He shot and hit a decent number of pull-up jumpers. The shot was consistent in form. Really good change of direction with the dribble. Good hesi.
As a freshman, Kobi is on the small side. Who knows what his ultimate height will be, but his skills are advanced already.

Very fast. High energy. He showed an eagerness to burst out on the counter.
Jack was in the top half of skills for the event. Shot it well. He probably can be a point guard. This season at Battle Ground Academy will be interesting for him. The team is loaded at guard, specifically point guard. It will be challenging to earn minutes despite his skills and ok size for the position.
His game is a little like Gabe Davenport Gabe Davenport 6'0" | PG Columbia Academy | 2025 State TN at Columbia Academy. Like Gabe, Jack might be resigned to playing high school 2-guard just because of personnel.
Jack could become even more assertive as a slasher in the halfcourt. In transition he is exceedingly capable of creating separation and putting himself in positions to succeed.

Hudson is a freshman, so not too much can be judged about his size. He has growing to do. His speed was decent in a straight-line (3.15, 3.16) though his Lane Agility times lagged somewhat compared to the competition (13.41, 12.78). The second time was better, and this is usually the case. When completing the awkward footwork of sprinting/sliding/backward running/sliding generally takes one run through to acclimate to.
Light on his feet on the court.
