Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 2 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
Oubei is a 6’1″ guard with very long arms that was effective off of the bounce for Team 2 at our showcase. The Fort Wayne Northrop product had one drive in particular that stood out where he raced the ball down the floor, made a left-to-right crossover at the top of the key, then crossed back over right-to-left around the free throw line to go finish with his left hand. His quick change of direction and shiftiness with the ball consistently got him into the paint. On the defensive end, Oubei’s length was disruptive as well.

One of the more skilled Class of 2026 guards at the event, this Chesterton High School product dominated off of the dribble for Team 2 during several stretches at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Pokorney is a 6’3″ guard capable of playing on or off of the ball. He handles it like a primary ball handler with crisp moves, quick change of direction, and the ability to drive and finish with both hands. Additionally, his size allows him to finish at a high percentage or squeeze off pull-up jump shots without needing much space. Highly skilled prospect to watch.
Turner is a big, physical wing that can absolutely shoot the lights out. He has such a smooth and compact stroke from beyond the arc. The 6’5″ Southport High School product always has his hands and feet ready to shoot which helps him squeeze them off in a hurry with repeatable form. Love his combination of size and skill out on the perimeter. Look for Turner to experience a breakout junior season for the Cardinals. He was a consistent top performer throughout our event.
This 6’6″ sophomore from Sullivan High School obviously has excellent size, but he impressed at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo with his excellent footwork, agility, and interior skill level as well. Bock was very productive as a freshman, carried that over through the summer, and will look to continue to expand his game this upcoming season. The way he moves at his size makes him a very difficult matchup around the basket. Big things to come for his prospect out of southern Indiana.

This 6’4″ wing from University High School was impressive at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The long, athletic wing has obvious physical tools but backed those up with several skilled offensive plays throughout the event. Holland was most effective as a right hand driver where he would attack closeouts from the perimeter and use his length to reach out and finish around the rim. Very intriguing two-way wing that flashed some real potential.
