Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 14 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
Bryson Sipples
Bryson Sipples
A 5’9″ guard from South Ripley High School, Sipples did a good job of handling the ball and facilitating some offense for Team 14 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. He showcased solid ball handling ability and was an active screener and cutter when he did not have the ball. The smaller guard didn’t back down from sticking his nose in defensively and was crashing the glass consistently from the perimeter to help in the rebounding efforts.
One of the more talented Class of 2026 prospects at the event, Ford was able to get to the rim consistently off of the dribble and displayed his creative finishing ability inside. The 5’10” point guard from Brebeuf Jesuit High School is a very good playmaker in the half-court and looked very comfortable leading the offense in transition as well. Look for his ball-handling ability to get him into the rotation this winter for the Braves. Ford can really score it off of the bounce.
Kellen Dakin
Kellen Dakin
Dakin is a high-IQ guard from Tri-West High School that looked comfortable playing both on and off of the ball at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. He was effective out on the perimeter using a shot fake to attack closeouts and make plays at the end of his drives. When Dakin got into the paint he did a good job of playing off of two feet which allowed him to score it through contact or stay on balance to make the next pass to a teammate.

Sawatzky stood out with this catch-and-shoot ability for Team 14. The 6’2″ guard from Goshen High School knocked in several three-point shots both with his feet set in the corner or when moving off of screening action on the wings. He displayed a quick release and sound footwork which led to his repeatable stroke. Off the dribble, Sawatzky also had a nice left-to-right cross over that he used to get into the teeth of the defense and make a nice kick-out to a teammate. Skilled offensive player.
Moynihan had an excellent performance from beyond the arc at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’3″ wing from Seton Catholic High School was absolutely on fire in the game that I watched knocking in several catch-and-shoot three-pointers including back-to-back shots at one point. He has good size on the perimeter, a quick trigger, and a repeatable follow through that make you think each shot is going in. Look for a potentially breakout junior season from him.
Hayden Lepley
Hayden Lepley
This long, thin forward from Fort Wayne Northrop High School flashed some potential throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Lepley can catch the ball on the roll and finish at the rim, rebound on both ends of the floor, and impacted some shots defensively around the paint. As he continues to get stronger his offensive game will take another leap, but he already displays a soft touch when he catches it inside. Right hand, left shoulder finisher.
