Today, we’re turning the spotlight to Team 3 and 4, unveiling both familiar names and emerging stars who left an indelible mark at the event.
Elijah Smith (Oak Lawn Community – 2025)
The dynamic 5’5″ point guard injected an energetic presence and focus into the camp. With agility and rapid lateral movements, he displayed the ability to maintain position in front of ball-handlers. He showcased exceptional ball-handling skills during transition play, delivering passes with accuracy. Furthermore, Smith displayed a knack for sinking mid-range jumpers and three-pointers both as a catch-and-shoot player and by pulling up in the face of his defenders.
Kaiden Taylor Kaiden Taylor 6'2" | PF Bishop McNamara Catholic | 2025 IL (Bishop McNamara Catholic – 2025)
With a stocky build, the 6’2″ forward delivered an inspiring performance that embodied unrelenting effort and unmatched physicality. Taylor’s ability to soar in for rebounds was nothing short of breathtaking, and he seamlessly transitioned from one end of the court to the other with impressive speed. Beyond his on-court prowess, Taylor proved to be the “glue guy,” uniting the team with his physical presence and unwavering commitment to success from the interior.
Chris Tacher (Elgin Academy – 2025)
The 6’4″ wing delivered an extraordinary performance that left spectators in awe. Despite relentless pressure at the rim, Tacher exhibited an exceptional ability to finish with strength and finesse, all while showcasing a noticeable spring in his step. His ball-handling skills allowed him to expertly break down defenders before swiftly penetrating the lane, highlighting raw athleticism that set him apart from the competition. Tacher’s capability to thread the needle with pinpoint passes through tight windows was another unnoticed feature. Furthermore, the crowd was treated to a series of dunks that added an unexpected element of excitement to the event, leaving viewers surprised and entertained.
Ryan Clemons (Homewood Flossmoor – 2025)
Homewood-Flossmoor is poised to showcase an abundance of talent in the upcoming season, and among the standout players, the 6’3″ Clemons has certainly made a compelling case for his effectiveness on the court. His repertoire includes a feather-soft touch from mid-range. Clemons consistently displays an unwavering work ethic in transition, both on offense and defense, and possesses the remarkable ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. One of his qualities is his precise passing ability, a skill he executes with equal precision using either hand. On the defensive end, Clemons stands out by contesting and blocking shots with impressive verticality, deterring opponents with his tenacity. His offensive prowess extends to his adeptness at penetrating the lane, whether finishing at the rim or showcasing a touch with floaters. Plus, he’s effective off the ball as he knifes through defensive gaps as a cutter. Moreover, he’s not limited to the paint, as he’s equally capable of extending his range out to the three-point line.
Nico Wright Nico Wright 6'5" | PF Lane Tech | 2026 State IL (Lane Tech – 2026)
Wright, a 6’5″ forward, is a player in the midst of an exciting development journey, and his lengthy frame is undeniably impactful on the court. He impressively extends his body to secure rebounds. He showcases an innate ability to time his blocks at the rim with great precision. This makes him a formidable presence on the defensive end. One of his standout qualities is his effectiveness in the high post, where he excels as a facilitator, orchestrating plays and contributing to his team’s overall flow. Additionally, Wright proves to be a reliable scoring option in the proximity of the rim, demonstrating strength and ball control in post-up situations. As he continues to evolve, he is undoubtedly an exciting prospect with the potential to make significant contributions.
Brent Taylor Brent Taylor 6'3" | SG Lincoln Way East | 2025 State IL (Lincoln Way – 2025)
Standing at 6’3″, Taylor exemplified a player with exceptional guard skills, showcasing a diverse skill set that left a lasting impression on the court. Taylor’s relentless hustle and unwavering commitment were palpable in every facet of the game, making him a force all over the court. What set Taylor apart was his confidence in launching and connecting from beyond the arc, consistently delivering three-pointers that energized his team. Furthermore, Taylor’s smooth elevation and release in the mid-range game added an element of finesse to their scoring repertoire, making them a versatile and reliable offensive threat. Taylor’s all-around prowess and confidence made them a standout presence on the court.
