Pangos: Scotty B’s 2026 Wing Standouts Pt 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp is always a great opportunity to get a look at the young talent in the state.&nbsp; PHI was in the house for the entire event.&nbsp; Here we dive into <strong>Pangos Camp: Top Illinois 2026 Wings Pt 2</strong>!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] (Simeon)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tyler has one of the highest ceilings among the 2026 prospects in Illinois regardless of position.&nbsp; He started to turn a corner during the spring/summer and we saw more of it at Pangos.&nbsp; The Simeon shooting guard had a pair of massive scoring games in his three regular contests and then shined in the Top 30 game as well.&nbsp; Long and athletic wing that explodes off the bounce and has a smooth handle.&nbsp; Can create his own shot draining pull up threes along with turnaround jumpers.&nbsp; Showed growth posting up other wings and really has improved his passing instincts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1552476' first='Nasir' last='Rankin'] (Whitney Young)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rankin is a physical and athletic 6'1” shooting guard that is a two sport standout at Whitney Young.&nbsp; This is the type of setting he thrives in as he can let his athleticism shine and that is exactly what he did.&nbsp; Rankin earned co-MVP honors of the top 30 game with a big performance where he got loose over and over in transition for scores and converted off the bounce for acrobatic layups.&nbsp; Finished very well at the cup and mixed in some mid-range shots.&nbsp; High-motor player that had a nice camp!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Charles Barnes (De La Salle)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Barnes is a 6'6” combo forward with long arms and a rangy frame.&nbsp; If he continues to grow could be utilized as a small ball four.&nbsp; He is very active on the offensive glass for put backs using his length to snatch rebounds for extra points.&nbsp; Effective transition player that really does a nice job of running the floor.&nbsp; Decent handles from mid-range in.&nbsp; We saw some growth with him as a shooter including banging in a pair of catch and shoot threes in the Top 30 game.&nbsp; Headlines a strong group of De La Salle sophomores.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2323307' first='Lucas' last='Johnson'] (De La Salle)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Yet another De La Salle prospect to track in 2026.&nbsp; Johnson stands at 6'3” with long arms.&nbsp; Electric athlete that is really springy around the rim.&nbsp; Potential as a mid-range shooter and is a quality defender.&nbsp; Showed well as a connector on the offensive end as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Aaron Arrambide (Chi-Prep)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chi-Prep 6'3” two guard that caught our attention with his size for position and skill level combination.&nbsp; Looked comfortable shooting it off the catch and has upside as a defender.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1552473' first='Alijah' last='Little'] (Plainfield East)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Plainfield East 6'3” two guard earned a nod because of his play on the second day of the camp filling up the nets with an array of threes in the morning session.&nbsp; Good size and a clean stroke from beyond the arc.&nbsp; Also was able to step in on close outs for mid-range shots as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Josh Humbles (Peoria Manual)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Humbles debuted in our initial rankings after a strong summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2076253' first='Team' last='Illinois'].&nbsp; Athletic and well built two guard that is a plus player in transition.&nbsp; Slashes well, defends, and plays with a high-motor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kye Ward-Owens (Hyde Park)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hyde Park wing that fits the look of a prospect at 6'3” with a good frame and plus athleticism.&nbsp; Scored it well in transition and flashed potential.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2105399' first='Ahmad' last='Lee'] (Lincoln Park)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lee is a two guard that wasn't there the first day, but impacted on the second.&nbsp; Wing with a good IQ that has nice size.&nbsp; Can break defenders down off the bounce for spinning layups and sees the floor.&nbsp; Smooth ball handler.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
