Continue ReadingDowning is a quickly rising name after a good summer with All Carolina that should be a huge part of Rolesville’s success this year. He shows a great knack of being able to shoot the deep ball and really score it. He’s comfortable more shooting the ball off the dribble, getting rhythm and finding a move to get himself open easily. Can defend his position and does what he needs to on that end, mostly because of his athleticism.
Khaim Taylor

Taylor will make noise for an improved Knightdale squad this year, and is one of the few guys who really hangs his hat on the defensive end. He’s not the biggest guard, but does damage in terms of pure blocks and steal numbers. This is from his ability to guard multiple positions combined with real length. He’s scrappy on offense with an ability to get downhill and just fill in all the little things you need from your better guards. His scrappiness and toughness should be a trait he and his team hangs their hats on this season.
One of three talented players headlining our all-conference team from Millbrook, Callahan is a combo guard with a lot of noise coming his way soon. He’s thin but still an elite shot maker with his body control and athleticism that he possesses. Also is a legit on ball defender with the length he possesses, as well as his quickness. Can pick up full court or defend tough in the half court on all sorts of opposing guards, making him a legitimate two way threat. Definite college prospect that should find a home soon.
Highlights
Heredia is an all-conference pick coming back for more, and should have a big senior year coinciding with an uptick in his recruitment. He’s kind of a do-it-all glue guy in Millbrook’s system, and doesn’t have a whole lot of weaknesses. He’s a solid shooter when left open, and has improved in his shot making craft while continuing to be a good rim runner and low post threat. Defense is his calling card though, as he defends the post well without prototypical size.
To round out the Millbrook trio, Langdon is just the best shooting forward in the state without question. He’s really got a clip from behind the arc and gets to his spots with consistency. Can also make some things happen off the dribble when guarded by bigger forwards. Defensively has a lot of physicality to him which will be essential for him presumably guarding the 4 in college. His offensive versatility is his calling card, and this will prove key to him having a huge recruitment and big season.
