A quality group of NorCal Prospects (17) mostly in the class of 2024 came together for a skills and drills clinic before a controlled scrimmage. It was an opportunity for us to get another look at these prospects before the high school season begins in late November.
Dotten is a rising prospect and has been productive for a while. He was solid on both ends of the court. The 6’6 w/f has gotten stronger. He’s a reliable scorer at this level who’ll accumulate points in different ways from different angles, and working the paint area. He’s long, takes it strong into the paint. He’s knocking down open 3’s, and rebounding at a good rate.
Highlights
He’s one of the better shooters in this 2024 class, he can get hot. He’s quick off the dribble when attacking the paint for drives, and pull-up jumpers. He hit multiple 3’s with a quick release, without much hesitation. He’s a good ball handling guard with some quickness on the dribble, he sees the court and has good movement without the ball.
Highlights
He’s a strong body prospect who works well inside the paint with strong finishes around the rim, he’ll hit the paint jumper. At 6’7 he’s improving his ball handling, and shooting range to have more of a perimeter game, he did hit a couple of open 3’s. He sets solid screens. He attacks the glass for rebounds, and has strength to defend in the post. He’s a double, double at this level.
Lewis is steadily expanding his overall game. He’s showing more strength and bounce handling physical play in the paint. He had multiple dunks powering up off two in traffic. He’s a threat to knock down the 3-point shot in the corner, he used a dribble or two to attack the paint for jumpers. He’s going to get rebounds, and has the hops to go after blocks. He’s a double, double guy.
Highlights
Salkhi continues to show he’s an excellent facilitator in the half-court. He sets the offense, not real fast, but plays with balance, takes care of the ball, and makes good use of his body while handling up top. He can get into the paint for the jumper. He can work off ball with a good shot from behind the 3-point line.
