Prep Hoops Florida is your 365 day a year source for all things high school and grassroots basketball. This week we will be headlining the top uncommitted seniors by position. Today we will headline the top five small forwards still looking for a place to call home for the next three-four years.
Cooper Flagg Cooper Flagg 6’9″ | PF Montverde Academy | 2024 State #1 Nation FL , A 6-8 senior forward who recently reclassified from 2025 to 2024 is arguably the nation’s top recruit, according to multiple recruiting services. He has the potential to be a generational talent as he can do it all on the offensive end whether it’s his highlight dunks or score from beyond the arc. He is fundamentally sound and is a proven winner at every level. Flagg is also an elite defender where he covers a lot of ground whether it’s out on the perimeter or blocking shots at the front of the rim. He is also a sensational rebounder and pushes the ball in transition with no flaws.
Liam McNeeley Liam McNeeley 6’7″ | SF Montverde Academy | 2024 State #14 Nation FL , A 6-7 small forward is a strong wing who is strong and sturdy around the rim on the offensive end. He also has gained consistency when it comes to shooting from beyond the arc as he has a smooth release and is deadly accurate with his shot. On the defensive end, McNeeley is versatile where he can guard positions 1 through 4 as he has shown improvements in his footwork. He has shown a lot of quickness where he doesn’t have to use his length as he has a good first step to get to the rim. He has elite speed for his size and is at his best when he is attacking downhill finishing at both sides of the rim.
Khani Rooths Khani Rooths 6’7″ | SF IMG Academy | 2024 State #16 Nation FL , A 6-7 small forward is a versatile prospect on both ends of the floor as he can guard multiple positions using his length and speed. On the offensive end, Rooths does a great job at finishing around the rim while drawing contact and get to the foul line at a high level. Rooths will look to improve his catch-and-shoot ability and get his teammates involved more often. Look for Rooths to be more aggressive at finishing around the rim as well as continue to improve his 3-point shooting this season.
Malik Abdullahi Malik Abdullahi 6’6″ | SF Columbus | 2024 State FL , A 6-7 small forward helped lead Columbus to back-to-back state titles as a sophomore and junior. Abdullahi is long, athletic and bouncy around the rim as well as on the defensive end of the floor. He has strong tendencies to go get rebounds as well as play multiple positions on the offensive end as well. He is also one of the top elite shot blockers on the defensive end as well using his length to force the opposition into taking tough shots.
Josh Harris Josh Harris 6’8″ | SF Pembroke Pines Charter | 2024 State FL , A 6-8 small forward has a ton of upside heading into his senior season. Harris is strong, long and very versatile on both ends of the floor where he can play multiple positions. He plays an exceptional role in pick-and-roll offenses as well as having a knack where he can defend opposing guards at a high level. He is also a high-level rebounder where averaged a near double-double as a junior last season. Harris has received offers from Air Force and North Florida so far in the early stages of his recruitment process. Look for Harris to have a huge senior season for Pembroke Pines Charter as he continues to grow his confidence in becoming a tier three-level scorer and reliable offensive threat.
