Prep Hoops Florida is your year-round source of high school and grassroots basketball coverage from across the state. Here are some 2026 forwards I’m excited to see take the floor this season.
Chris Kitenge, A 6-6 sophomore small forward who has proven he can be an inside-out threat as he is nearly impossible to stop when he is finishing above the rim. Kitenge has a strong frame who runs the floor extremely well and has great court vision for his size. On the defensive side, he plays with a ton of length where he can get tips and deflections leading to steals. Kitenge is also a dominate rebounder who limits the opposition from getting second chance scoring opportunities.
Dallas Lambert, A 6-4 sophomore small forward is a pure left-handed shooter who can score on all three levels. Lambert thrives in the open court where he can create the offense when given space as he can score off the bounce as well as off the catch. He is an athletic wing who can rebound effectively on both ends of the floor as well as being very active in the passing lanes. Lambert will be a name you need to keep an eye on the next three years as he could start gaining interest from college coaches soon.
Jayquan Freeman

Jayquan Freeman, A 6-6 sophomore wing shows a lot of promise and athleticism when he has the basketball in his hands, as he can knock down shots from the perimeter as well as at the front of the rim. He has huge upside when it comes to his defense as well where he can guard multiple positions using his elite footwork and lateral movement. Look for Freeman to flourish this upcoming season as he is only going to get better for COHEA.
Trace Westercamp, A 6-9 sophomore forward who adds physical strength when it comes to finishing around the rim. Westercamp also runs the floor well and is a good passer when out on the perimeter making the right reads. On the defensive end, he does a great job at challenging shots as well as rebounding against bigger players. Westercamp is already gaining interest from several mid-major D1 programs.

Alex Davis, A 6-9 sophomore power forward with huge upside heading into the season. Davis has good hands, footwork and has a smooth touch inside the rim. Davis has also added some consistency in his mid-range game where he can score effectively off the catch. On the defensive side, Davis plays with great length and body control where he can secure rebounds against multiple defenders. He also has great potential and looks of a D-1 prospect where perimeter shooting will be the next step in his offensive game.
