Tyshawn Pearson Tyshawn Pearson 6'0" | CG Westfield | 2025 State NJ , 6’0 Westfield
Pearson had a strong summer and should carry over his form into the winter. The 6’0 guard is one of the top on-ball defenders in the state as he makes it hard for his man to get to their spot on the floor and uses his quick hands to get deflections. Pearson has a solid handle, which he uses to get to the basket and finish around the rim. He moves well without the ball in his hands and sets his feet before he shoots. Pearson is a lockdown defender whose ability to score around the basket is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
Kevin King Kevin King 6'0" | CG Mendham | 2025 State NJ , 6’0 Mendham
King can play on and off the ball, which will help his development this season. The 6’0 guard attacks the basket strong as he finishes well around the basket and does not mind drawing contact. King has a nice release on his jumper and can also score in the mid-range. He is an underrated passer and slides his feet on the defensive end. King is set to have a breakout season as he gets more touches on the offensive end.
Justin Hanson Justin Hanson 6'0" | CG Morris Knolls | 2025 State NJ , 6’0 Morris Knolls
Hanson had a big sophomore season and should have an even bigger junior season. The 6’0 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and can make shots through contact in the paint. Hanson has a good release on his jumper and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He gets deflections on the defensive end and can also run the offense in a pinch. Hanson had six 20-point games last season, a number which should increase in 2023-24.
Zach Schweid Zach Schweid 5'11" | CG Demarest | 2025 State NJ , Demarest
Schweid is comfortable with the ball in his hands and will be one to watch this season in Bergen County. He has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Schweid finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. He moves his feet on the defensive end and wastes little motion in his jumper. Schweid’s ability to run the offense is something that will help his game in a big way this season.
Asa Wharton Asa Wharton 6'1" | CG Timber Creek | 2025 State NJ , 6’1 Timber Creek
Wharton will have the ball in his hands more this season, which will help his game in a big way in 2023-24. The 6’1 guard has a tight handle and a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the rim. Wharton has a smooth touch on his floater and makes good passes to his teammates in the halfcourt. He uses his length to get deflections on defense and has the ability to play off the ball as well. Wharton is a speedy, guard prospect who should have a big 2023-24 season for Timber Creek.
