These players are at the top when it comes to their play and how they help their teams win games. We have players here who are only going to get better heading into their senior season. Here are my top shooting guards for the 2024 class.
Harper is the most talented player in this class and at the shooting guard position, he can do everything at such a high and controllable level. He is very smart with the basketball seemingly always making the right reads when passing and knowing how to pick his spots on the court. The lefty has a smooth release from downtown and needs very little room to get it off. Harper will look to attack the rim whenever he can using his strong 6’5″ to bully his way in the paint. His athleticism is what separates him from other players in this class as he can hang in the air longer than normal to make some very crafty difficult layups with both hands.
Glover is as talented as anyone on the offensive end in his class because of his constant attack with the basketball. He knows exactly what shot he wants before the defense even has time to get set. Glover looks calm and collected on the court making the game look easy as he racks up the points in the paint. His 6’6″ frame allows him to put a body on almost anyone looking to stop him and has a soft touch around the rim. His midrange game is elite as he looks to use his tight handles to weave in and out of defenses to hit the pull-up shot. Glover can guard multiple positions throughout a game and does a great job of holding his own against bigger players.
There isn’t anything Seals can’t do on the offensive end as he is just a scoring machine and gets any shot he wants. For three-point shooting, Seals will extend his range the more he makes throughout a game with some shots being shot close to the half-court line. He will look to put the ball on the floor if defenses pressure him up top. He has a strong upper body he uses to his advantage inside the paint to get easy layups around the rim. Seals is crafty with his handles and pairs that with his midrange game making it a lethal combo. On defense, he is not afraid to apply pressure for a whole game with him coming up with numerous turnovers to start multiple fastbreaks for his team.
Highlights
Kelly plays with a lot of speed and intensity in his game as he never stops moving without the basketball. He has a quick first step that allows him to blow by most perimeter defenders to get into the paint. He can go up in the air and challenge anyone at the rim looking to test him. Regarding three-point shooting, Kelly can get hot in a hurry from that area. His range is deep and contests do very little to his shot because of his high release point. He can get into the midrange area to use his crafty handles to hit some tough step-back shots. He excels in the fastbreak when he gets a steal as almost no one will catch him once he takes off to the other end of the court.
Dorset can score in his sleep with how talented he is with the basketball in his hands. His shooting ability is what makes him a tough outing to defend because of how elite he is finishing around the rim. His range is deep as he likes to use handles to create space off the dribble. If the defense is pressing him he will use his quickness to get by defenders where he will look to get to the rim and hang in the air with anyone. Dorset can get into the midrange area whenever he wants in which he uses his unstoppable pull-up game no matter how tight the defense is playing. His defensive ability is great as he has great timing and instincts on when to poke the ball free to create numerous turnovers for his team.
