A Prep Hoops Circuit standout this spring, Germany was getting it done for the Nova Village 17 U Prep Hoops Circuit team. A taller combo guard with the ability to play on or off the ball, Germany could create for himself and hit shots off the bounce at a high clip. After playing next to a trio of seniors that ran the show for Bishop Ready last season, their new look squad is ready to make some noise this season. With Germany, Kayden Schaffer Kayden Schaffer 6’3″ | SF Bishop Ready | 2025 State OH and more fresh faces, don’t be surprised if Bishop Ready is once again one of the top Division II teams in central Ohio.
A guy who got on my radar at the Bleacher Republic Fall League last year, Wyant has finally earned a spot in our rankings. After a first team all-conference Junior season for Bloom-Carroll, Wyant is set to have a huge senior season for the Bulldogs. A smaller guard who is a zone buster with his spot-up shooting ability but can also get to the mid-range and hit pull-up shots. Expect Wyant to have a handful of small college interest if he improves on his already impressive Junior season accolades.
Lewis and his Worthington Christian teammate Sam Johnson Sam Johnson 6’6″ | C Worthington Christian | 2024 State OH were a nice duo for Nova’s UA Rise squad this spring and summer. Lewis is a natural scorer from the shooting guard position as the lefty has a high arcing shot that goes in at a high percentage. Lewis knocks down shots either spotting up, running off screens or off one dribble pull-ups. A crafty finisher at the rim, Lewis can extend past rim protectors and still finish at the basket. A good option for small college programs looking for a scoring burst from a guard early in his career.
Another Prep Hoops Circuit standout, Marshall received praise multiple times from our scouts after strong performances for Gem City Basketball Club . An athletic wing guard with the ability to hit shots from the outside, Marshall has taken visits to Anderson and Alma in the past week. With Wayne seeing another strong graduating class walk out the door last spring, expect some new faces like Marshall to get their time to shine in the always competitive GWOC.
Highlights
Another small school standout, Becker was the leading scorer in the LCL Buckeye and led Granville to the LCL Buckeye Championship. An undersized guard who stood out at a couple Prep Hoops Circuit events, Becker can get hot in a hurry from the outside and has also improved his explosiveness as an athlete. Expect Becker to once again be influential towards the success of the Blue Aces and attract some small college interest in the process.
