Joshua Van Kallen
2027 6’2 Joshua Van Kallen (Ridge View) was among one of the more mature freshmen in Session I of the Elite 60. Van Kallen’s physicality and athleticism appears on both ends, as he has a nose for the rim and does a good job of defending a variety of positions. His movements on the offensive end are fairly fluid on the ball and he played patient this weekend in half court settings. freshman that plays with fluidity and patience. Van Kallen is a constant threat at the rim and as a result, draws multiple defenders and shows himself to be capable of drawing fouls.
Nolan Nelson
Nolan Nelson
2027 6’7 Nolan Nelson (Creekside) is one of the more impressively sized shooting forwards you will come across in the 2027 class. The Creekside freshman displayed his ability to catch and shoot, as well as play at the rim. His height allows potential for pick and pop scenarios, especially at the high school level. In addition to his size and natural interior advantage, his game in the low post is impressive for this stage in his development. He has shown solid footwork on the block, and can create opportunities close to the rim with his faceup game. He has already begun receiving collegiate attention.

2027 6’1″ Amen “AC” Pressley (West Charlotte) – was one of the most comfortable guards using screens that I saw this weekend, even more impressive considering he is a freshman. Pressley’s ability to read to floor paired with his patience and early poise should aid him as he steps into one of the more difficult conferences in the state. In addition to his ability to read the floor in half court settings, Pressley has a soft touch that he uses for an array of finishes around the basket.
2027 6’3 Demarcus Henry (Withrow) – As far as upside, there are very few freshmen that presented as much as 2027 shooting guard Demarcus Henry. Henry’s ability to handle the ball at his height, along with his instincts as a creator are a great pair of traits to have entering his freshman season. This weekend, Henry found himself involved on both sides of the floor, most notably through his ability to score in half court settings. Uses his length well at the rim and found himself in the lane constantly during scrimmages.
Braylen Hill
Braylen Hill
2027 5’11 Braylen Hill (Hickory Ridge) – Braylen’s exceptional maturity for his age stands out both in his physicality, as well as his demeanor on the floor. The powerful attacker can get paint touches at will, and has shown his ability to hit threes when given the opportunity. When engaged, Hill’s on-ball defense could be a legitimate asset going into his freshman season. His explosiveness at the basket will inevitably either draw extra defenders, or fouls.
