Below is a review of the latest happenings on the recruiting scene in southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond).

SEPA Recruiting News:

[player_tooltip player_id='1189096' first='Jalil' last='Bethea'] – 6'4″ / 2024 / Archbishop Wood / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Wing: In yet another sign that college / high basketball is a different world these days, Bethea (23 ppg. & 7 rpg; 43% on 3PAs; PCL POY) recently announced that he has signed with Klutch Sports Group (Rich Paul / LeBron James) for NIL representation. Bethea has narrowed his list to five schools – Syracuse, Kansas, Miami, Alabama, and Villanova. Over Labor Day Weekend Bethea took an official visit to Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1850270' first='Abdrahaman' last='Coulibaly'] – 6'3″ / 2024 / West Philly / BW Elite / Wing: One ofthis summer's biggest 2024 stock risers picked up his first offer. Last week Coulibaly announced via his social media accounts that West Chester University (D2) has sent him an offer. Coulibaly possesses a feathery jump shot and excels in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1279636' first='Bahsil' last='Laster'] – 6'5″ / 2024 / Academy of New Church / NJ Scholars EYBL / Combo Guard: Laster (14 points and 7 rebounds per game in 2022-23) just added an offer from Lafayette to his list. This slasher style wing also holds offers from Rhode Island and NJIT. We are willing to bet more offers will be coming Laster's way this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1589404' first='Connor' last='Fleet'] – 6'1″ / 2024 / WC Henderson / [program_tooltip program_id='2078678' first='East' last='Coast Power'] / Combo Guard: How this lethal scoring guard remains uncommitted is a mystery us. However, Fleet's recruiting is beginning to pick up momentum as this month he will visit Gettysburg, DeSales and Marymount. Fleet was outstanding at Philly HS Live S2. Of course, hoop heads are still talking about his 32-point outburst in Henderson's District 1-6A playback win over Methacton.

Alex Hermann – 6'3″ / 2024 / Methacton / [program_tooltip program_id='2243610' first='Eastern' last='PA Elite'] / Combo Guard: Hermann (14.7 ppg. & 7 rpg.) is a versatile prospect who stuffs the stat book. He recorded several double doubles on the July circuit. Additionally, his high basketball IQ and court vision make him an excellent passer. Earlier this week Hermann took a visit to Arcadia University (D3).

[player_tooltip player_id='1477721' first='Ma'Kye' last='Taylor'] – 6'7” / 2024 / Imhotep Charter / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Wing: Taylor (2nd Team All-Public League) was a key member of ‘Tep's 2023 state championship. He is a fantastic transition scorer, can operate in pick-n-roll and has developed into a reliable shooter from behind the arc. Last week Taylor announced on his social media accounts that his final list is down to three schools: Albany, Fairfield, and Towson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1865290' first='Keni'' last='Williams'] – 6'2″ / 2025 / SCH Academy / [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] / Point Guard: Williams (9 ppg & 4.6 apg.) is a dribble wizard who creates opportunities for himself and teammates. This lefty is one of the top floor generals in the Class of 2025. Last week Williams took an unofficial visit to High Point. He holds offers from Albany and Robert Morris.

SEPA Recent Commitments:

[player_tooltip player_id='2226426' first='Ethan' last='Benne'] – 6'6″ / 2024 / Penn Manor / [program_tooltip program_id='2078684' first='LA' last='Elit3'] / Small Forward: This past week Benne gave his verbal commitment to Millersville University (D3). Benne can score off the dribble, shoot threes and score through contact in transition. Back In February, he posted 33 points and hit the game winner against Manheim Township. As a bonus, Benne is a plus defender. After the 2022-23 season Benne was a Lancaster-Lebanon Section 1 All-Star selection.
