Carey Smith | Prep Hoops Scout
The last time these two teams faced each other, this lefty bucket getter dropped 33 points (5 3PM) in a SCHA win. Friday night, the Fords were determined not to let that happen again and thus threw extra defensive attention at Williams every time he touched the rock. Williams still managed to score at all 3-levels as well as in transition. But this time he posted just 15 points (1 three). Williams is a complete guard prospect and East Stroudsburg (D2) landed a gem in him.

This lefty is a walking bucket who should have been included in our preseason POY watch list article. Williams is a three-level scorer who can simply take over a game. But his impact on the game is not limited to just the scoring column as Williams does it all on the basketball court. He is beast on the glass and a standout defender. Plus, he can work as a pass first primary ball handler. His ability to grab a defensive rebound and then go end-to-end for a bucket or an assist is impressive. Williams is averaging 18.4 points per night and is committed to East Stroudsburg University (D2). Earlier this season he hung 33-points (5 threes) in a win over Haverford School.

This lefty scoring machine is committed to East Stroudsburg University (D2) and after last night’s 33-point explosion (5 threes) it is clear the Warriors hit the jack pot with Williams. Williams was simply dominant in SCH’s defeat of Inter-Ac rival Haverford School. He scored at every level, was a beast on the glass as well as a plus defender. When faced with double teams, Williams was quick to distribute the ball to open teammates. Plus, Williams displayed the unique ability to grab a defensive rebound, get downhill quickly and then go coast-to-coast for a lay-in or assist.

Williams is a lefty scoring lead guard who is coming off a monster summer. So it should not be a surprise that he opened the season by scoring 24 points in SCHA’s upset of Archbishop Wood. This East Stroudsburg University (D2) commit popped 4 triples, scored at the rim off the dribble and hit mid-range pull ups. A couple of the three pointers Williams hit were from NBA distance. Williams also facilitated for teammates. His live dribble passing was especially impressive.
