Wright nearly averaged a double-double at East last season and is probably the most accomplished player on the roster of a team that we expect to pretty much dominate the division. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>First Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1171694' first='Tyron' last='Wright'] (Roosevelt): 14.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 58.3 FG%*</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An athletic 6-5/6-6 big man with a nose for the ball, Wright has been one of the best rebounders in the state over the last three years and he should continue to be dominant on the glass at his new school. He has really improved his touch around the rim and become a viable offensive threat. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1951797' first='Trae' last='Brown'] (Ottumwa): 13.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 47.9 FG%</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-4 power wing who can get to the rim seemingly at will, Brown does a great job using his strength to finish through contact at the bucket. He's really good on the glass and is a good enough ball-handler and playmaker to lead the break after pulling down a defensive rebound. He didn't shoot it from deep often last season, but he has a good stroke and should be looking to add a bit more of that to his arsenal as a junior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1288903' first='Deng' last='Gai'] (Roosevelt): 10.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 steals</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gai (pictured) averaged over 10 points a game at Lincoln last season and is one of the numerous transfers now at Roosevelt. A three-level scorer in the backcourt, he finishes well around the rim, gets into passing lanes, and has a pretty good mid-range game that he uses effectively to keep defenders honest against his dribble penetration. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2024 [player_tooltip player_id='2325471' first='Rahsha' last='Pope'] (Ottumwa): 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pope is a quick-twitch athlete who is at his best when he's playing downhill and using his combination of a quick first step and ball-handling to blow by defenders and get to the rim. He can create looks for himself and his teammates, and will pair with Brown to give the Bulldogs a dynamic backcourt.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1476972' first='Zahj' last='Collins'] (Roosevelt): 5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Collins is a great athlete who should step into a bigger role as a senior for the Roughriders, despite the major additions to the roster via transfer.
