Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 9 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
Max Tynan
Max Tynan
Tynan stood out on the defensive end of the floor with consistent hustle and activity level. The 6’1″ guard from Angola High School has good length on the perimeter which he used to play in the passing lanes and disrupt ballhandlers on the ball as well. He jumped the passing lane once on the wing for a fast break layup and had several other deflections. Tynan also was willing to help the rebounding efforts on both ends of the floor from the perimeter.
One of the more impressive unsigned seniors at the event on Sunday, Seward brought a little bit of everything to the table offensively. He was very aggressive with the ball showing the ability to make catch-and-shoot three-point shots, attack closeouts going right, and finish around the basket using his size and strength. The 6’3″ wing from Clarksville High School is strong and physical making him a tough matchup for opposing defenses. He was scoring it consistently both from the perimeter and at the end of his drives inside.
Highlights
The athletic and physical tools of this prospect from Bloomington High School North stand out right away when you watch him on the court. Williams is a 6’4″ wing with plus length that allows him to be very effective in transition, finishing at the rim, and on the glass. At the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo, Williams was excellent attacking closeouts and elevating to finish at the end of his drives. He also crashed the offensive glass consistently which can be a real strength of his. Intriguing Class of 2026 prospect to remember.

Helmuth is a talented point guard with good ball handling abilities that gets his team into offense and plays without turning it over. He plays with great pace and looks to be comfortable playing off of ballscreens as a playmaker for both himself and others. The 6’0″ guard from Westview High School had a strong summer with Total Package Elite and kept that momentum going into Sunday’s event. Look for a big senior season from him and the Warriors as an under-the-radar team in Class 2A.
Sullivan has elite physical tools for a prospect just entering his sophomore season. The 6’3″ guard from Paoli High School is very athletic, strong, and explosive at the end of his drives. He can play through contact on the perimeter, make defenders bounce off of him in the paint, and then score around the rim. There is a lot of upside as he continues to develop skill wise because he has all the physical gifts you could ask for. Look for a breakout sophomore season this winter.
This 6’8″ big man was one of the best post players at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Milan earned top performer status after consistently dominating around the basket with two-handed dunks, back-to-the-basket finishes, and several rebounds on both ends of the floor. He is strong on the block, has good hands on the roll, and more than holds his own defensively. After transferring to the defending undefeated, Class 4A state champions from Scecina, Milan should be an immediate impact player on the interior for the Giants.
