Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 16 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and he will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***
#606 – Sivante Stokes Sivante Stokes 6'1" | PG Calumet | 2027 IN – 6’1” SF – Calumet
- Stokes is a long and lanky wing who looked to push the tempo every time he got a rebound. He was also very patient when he got the paint, and he used his hesitations to get open in the paint.
#611 – Andrew Riethman Andrew Riethman 6'1" | SG Guerin Catholic | 2027 IN – 6’1” SF – Guerin Catholic
- Riethman is a hard-working wing who was all over the court. He also sees the floor well and made some nice passes.
#662 – Avery Mourer – 5’10” PG – Decatur Central
- Mourer was one of the more athletic guards in attendance on Sunday with excellent end-to-end quickness the comes through when he is handling the ball. He can run the show in transition, finishes well off of the bounce, and played with a non-stop motor on both ends of the floor.
#834 – DJ Smiley DJ Smiley 6'3" | SF Avon | 2027 IN – 6’3” SF – Avon
- Smiley is an athletic wing who was on the attack with every touch of the ball. He forced it at times on the offensive end, but a young kid trying to score at every chance is what you want to see. He has the attributes if he can hone in his skills.
#870 – Aidan Rashid Aidan Rashid 5'10" | PG Cathedral | 2027 IN – 5’10” SG – Cathedral
- Rashid played good minutes at shooting guard, and he helped his team all day long. Cathedral has a ton of talent in the pipeline, and he is just another potential prospect down the road.
#876 – Grant Lindemann Grant Lindemann 5'10" | PG Corydon Central | 2027 IN – 5’10” SG – Corydon Central
- Lindemann was a good shooter and played solid defense all day long. He is a good glue guy who does what he needs to do for his team.
#879 – Hudson Withers Hudson Withers 6'0" | SG Corydon Central | 2027 IN – 5’10” SG – Corydon Central
- Withers is another prototypical shooting guard who scores it well. He had a couple of nice finishes and showed good touch on the floater.
#893 – DaKori Parker – 5’9″ PG – South Bend Washington
- Parker is a talented scoring point guard that looked the part when playing both on and off of the ball. He is a good outside shooter, a strong driver, and a good finisher when he gets to the basket. The South Bend Washington product has a good, strong build despite being a bit smaller height wise. Definitely a name to remember in the South Bend area.
#896 – Jackson Gordon Jackson Gordon 6'8" | C Brownsburg | 2027 IN – 6’6” PF – Brownsburg
- Gordon was one of the best post players of the weekend, and he was great on the defensive end of the floor on one of the best post players at the event. He has a slow release on his shot, but he can still knock it down from deep. On the offensive end, he uses footwork and touch to score it well. I really liked his game.
#897 – Makale Price Makale Price 6'7" | C Penn | 2027 IN – 6’7” PF – Penn
- Price is a huge post presence inside who uses his physicality and length to make plays. He moves well despite his size, and he uses his length to dominate the paint on both ends.
