Dwayne Flowers 6’3 Prosser 2024
Second time watching Flowers this month. He’s a prolific scoring guard who is dangerous from all three levels. He has the ball on a string and is a willing passer when getting in the lane. Dwayne plays with lots of activity so much so that he was one of the first players to dive onto the court for a loose ball. Flowers is no doubt a college scholarship player and will be a candidate for being added to the next ranking update.
Cameron Thomas Cameron Thomas 6'3" | PG Mount Carmel | 2025 State IL 6’2 Mount Carmel 2025
Thomas is another player who showcased his scoring capabilities. After a year away at prep school in South Carolina, Cameron comes back with an arsenal of ways to score the ball. He was fluid in the paint hitting tough floaters and runners. Outside the lane, he made several shots to show he has improved his perimeter game. Thomas has the physical attributes that college coaches see first but he also has game to match. He surprised me in the first game when he got the two-hand slam in transition. Will be a big season for him with the Caravan.
Jonah Funk Jonah Funk 6'9" | C El Paso Gridley | 2025 State IL 6’9 El Paso Gridley 2025
Funk is an active and bouncy forward. He has a long frame with some very interesting strengths in his game. Jonah plays with a steady inside/out presence. Some of his most exciting plays happened from the perimeter when he drove to the rim, made a strong power hop, and dunked the ball. His major asset right now is his ability to rebound at the highest point and score around the rim. He displayed this numerous times at the camp. A potential mid-major prospect in a year.
Nico Wright Nico Wright 6'5" | PF Lane Tech | 2026 State IL 6’5 Lane Tech 2026
Bouncy forward who seems to block many shots at the rim. Nico has an exceptional second jump that he uses to block shots and rebounds on the offensive boards. Wright scored most of his points with strong putback finishes. I like the upside this kid has and will be a player to track in our next updated rankings.
Jalen Crues Jalen Crues 6'6" | PF Glenbard North | 2024 State IL 6’6 Glenbard North 2024
Jalen has a good body and frame to match his game. He gets off the floor quickly and moves guys when he looking to score. His strength along with the ability to get off the floor quickly helps him clear out any pace when rebounding. Crues is solid around the rim and is capable of hitting a shot or two from the perimeter. Small schools should be on him now.
Al Brooks Al Brooks 6'6" | SF Hansberry | 2025 State #239 Nation IL Jr. 6’7 Hansberry 2025
As expected Brooks excelled in the showcase style event. His game is built for the more open-court style of play. There wasn’t much Al couldn’t do on the court. He uses his length very well on both sides. Offensively he can handle the rock like a guard and pass just as effectively. He likes to overstretch when attacking the rim for tough layups. An aspect of his game he showed improvement in was his jump shot. On defense he does gets blocks, steals, and rebounds. Al is a true Swiss army knife on the court.
Ryan Clemons 6’3 Homewood Flossmoor 2025
Maybe the biggest surprise was this player Ryan who came out of nowhere. A highly active forward who uses his springs to affect plays. Clemons was seen hawking the ball and making strong help side plays on defense. Ryan has a nose for the ball always being near it in some form or fashion. On offense, he scored off tough layups and even caught a tip dunk over a guy. What’s shocking was the fact that he wasn’t on the team at H-F and would hope to see his name on the roster after their tryouts.
