Brady Lindstrom Brady Lindstrom 5'9" | PG Rochester Adams | 2027 State MI (5’9″. Rochester Adams)
Lindstrom drew some eyes his way at the Freshman Showcase. He did a very good job controlling pace and playing at his speed. Lindstrom showed that he could push the pace with the dribble.
Isaiah McCree (5’9″, Grand Blanc)
McCree sent a message loud and clear at the event. He was a silky smooth athlete that was a playmaker in a variety of ways. McCree passed the ball effectively and confidently with the ability to hit teammates in stride. He was able to score off the bounce on both sides of the rim.
Marrion May Marrion May 6'0" | PG Everett | 2027 State MI (5/9″, Lansing Everett)
May caught my eye at the event on Sunday. He was a very diverse and athletic scorer. May showed body control on his finishes and was a huge threat in transition. He showed 3 point range on his jumper off the catch and shoot.
Mariano Mercado Mariano Mercado 5'8" | PG Heritage | 2027 State MI (5’8″, Saginaw Heritage)
Mercado had a day in Grand Rapids. I came away from the event very impressed with his offensive and defensive quickness as well as his ability to handle the ball. Mercado showed very active hands on D.
Christian Cast Christian Cast 6'1" | CG Country Day | 2027 State MI (6’1″, Country Day)
Cast was a head turner at the Freshman Showcase. He showed the ability to get buckets at all 3 levels. Cast buried a catch and shoot 3, drew a foul from the mid range, and finished a pretty reverse at the rim. This young man has a ton of upside.
Carter Wade Carter Wade 5'11" | CG Grandville | 2027 State MI (5’11”, Laingsburg)
Wade made a ton of noise with his play in Grand Rapids. He goes up high after rebounds and picked up a tip in by doing just that. Wade attacked the rim, finishing consistently and drawing multiple fouls. He also showed that he could see and pass accurately while on the move.
Andrew Valerio Andrew Valerio 6'0" | PG Flushing | 2027 State MI (6’0″, Flushing)
Valerio showed up in my notes way more than once. He was one of the better rebounders at the event, showing the willingness to absolutely battle on the boards. Valerio picked up a lot of effort rebounds. He also showed that he can be effective running the floor in transition.
Robert (RJ) Wesley (6’1″, Cousino)
Wesley is definitely a player to watch as he starts his high school basketball career. He has a lot of length and stays very bouncy under the bucket. Wesley is dangerous filling a wing and getting wide in transition. He’s a versatile defender that can guard all over the floor.
Major Barnes Major Barnes 5'7" | PG East Kentwood | 2027 State MI (5’7″, East Kentwood)
Barnes definitely showed out at the Freshman Showcase. He was able to do a lot of work off the dribble. Barnes looked very comfortable shooting off the bounce and advancing the ball with the dribble.
