When you are looking at freshman you think about their body frame, athleticism, and skill set, you take where they are compared to others and you only imagine what could be. Let’s take a look at these newcomers and what could be one of the best classes we’ve seen.
Warren Harris lll- Warren is a good shooter in transition and loves to find that 3-point line during the process. Warren sprints the floor and finds himself getting easy layups out of fast breaks which his points can rack up pretty easily doing so. To get easy layups some like to “cherry pick” their way to it, Harris likes to outrun everybody else to get his points. Warren is just a kid that plays harder than everyone else and that’s a huge skill that can’t be taught.
Harrison Trelc Harrison Trelc 5'10" Emporia | 2027 KS – Harrison plays off of 2 feet which is every coach’s dream when they are in the paint. Trelc is very poised, he doesn’t get rushed or sped up when he’s playing at what looks to be a faster tempo. The key to playing at your pace is to play hard and do all the little things
Aiden Ihm- Aiden Has good instincts and good awareness which leads to a much-needed high IQ when playing the game of basketball at any level. Ihm plays every possession like it’s his last from diving on the floor, sprinting the floor baseline to baseline, and being a good teammate he does whatever little thing is needed. Aiden communicates well on defense which most kids his age don’t do and he does it at a high level.
Calvin Cens- Calvin plays the passing lane extremely well when he’s playing defense. It’s impressive because when you are playing the passing lanes it’s all about timing and being quick and if you have any sort of wingspan you have a huge advantage. Cens has active hands on defense and with him staying alert he’s able to deflect lazy passes from his opponents. He’s good at driving downhill and getting to the rim. Once you take away the drive he has good footwork to create space and score as well.
