Overall hundreds of college prospects participated in the Never Forget Classic. A number of those prospects caught our attention for the first time. Now it is our job to spread the word on those players.
Below is a review of five “New Names” from southeastern Pennsylvania who impressed us at this past weekend’s Never Forget Classic
Darrell Davis – 5’11” / 2027 / Archbishop Carroll / Team Takeover / Combo Guard: This was our first opportunity to watch Davis play with his talented Carroll teammates. Needless to say, we were impressed. Davis is a high IQ point man who can push the fast break for a score or to distribute to an open teammate. He is also a high percentage 3-point shooter. Additionally, Davis plays suffocating on ball defense. He frequently produced steals that lead to easy baskets. Davis holds an offer from Providence.
Theo Jauregui Theo Jauregui 6'0" | SG Strath Haven | 2026 State PA – 5’11” / 2026 / Strath Haven / PSB Philly / Combo Guard: When you watch Jauregui play, the first skill set you notice is his ability to knock down tightly contested jumpers from all over the floor. Baseline Js, mid-range shots, deep threes, dribble pull-ups, fadeaways, turn arounds, etc. – Jauregui can splash them all. But, if a defender over plays Jauregui’s top side, he will slash to the cup for a catch and lay-in. Plus, Jauregui owns enough handles and the basketball IQ to run as a point guard for stretches.
Anthony Oliveira-Schultze – 6’2″ / 2024 / Upper Dublin / Team DPS / Small Forward: Oliveira-Schultze is a traditional forward with great hands and a chiseled frame. He does his damage in the paint on quick post ups, catching drop off passes for finishes through contact and via the offensive glass. Oliveira-Schultze owns solid face up game that features a soft touch. He can pop short jumpers and use one or two bounces to get from the elbow to the rim for two. At the defensive end Oliveira-Schultze is an active rebounder.
Cooper Rath Cooper Rath 5'9" | SG Boyertown | 2026 State PA – 5’10” / 2026 / Boyertown / Eastern PA Elite / Combo Guard: A junior varsity standout last year, this weekend Rath introduced himself to scouts and college coaches by exploding for 37 points (6 threes) in Boyertown’s win over Great Valley. When he was not dropping triples from all around the arc, Rath scored at the rim through significant contact. Despite his ridiculous scoring output, Rath did not force a single ill-advised shot. Rath also displayed enough instincts and handles that he could run as a secondary ball handler.
Semaj Stone Semaj Stone 6'3" | SG Archbishop Ryan | 2027 State PA – 6’2″ / 2027 / Archbishop Ryan / K-Low Elite / Point Guard: If a freshman is going to find minutes on a Ryan squad that returns five DI prospects from last season’s District 1-5A title team, he must think pass first, defend for 94-feet and when the ball swings his way, hit the open jump shot. Stone did all three of those things at the Never Forget Classic. As a bonus, Stone also proved he could score in Ryan’s transition game and rebounded well.
