In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Evansville Harrison Warriors.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 16-7 last season
- Lost to Jasper in Sectionals
- Nathan Fleenor returns for 8th season as head coach. 87-74 overall record.
Top Player: Shane Sims
Sims is one of the best prospects in the southern Indiana area. The 6’3″ guard is one of the most talented, pure scores in the 2025 class and plays with such a high IQ off the ball. His strength and athleticism allows him to get to his spots and elevate for pull-up jumpers whenever he wants as well. He is coming off a big summer playing for Team Teague and that should continue into the high school season. College coaches needs to start taking notice of this guy because he is going to be putting up numbers these next two years.
Potential Breakout Player: Jay Summitt Jay Summitt 6'3" | SF Evansville Harrison | 2025 State IN
Summitt was one of my breakout players this summer and I think his breakout play is going to transition into this season as well. Summit is a 6-foot-3 wing that does just about a little bit of everything. While he is a little on the shorter end at his position, he makes up for it with a bigger frame and good motor. Shoots the ball well from the outside well and is so aggressive on the glass. Sneaky athletic too. He pairs up with Sims so well.
Other Important Roster Members
- Eli Speer Eli Speer 6'2" | SG Evansville Harrison | 2024 IN – Speer will be one of the senior leads in the backcourt for the Warriors. Will provide more wing options for them all season long.
- Brooks Thomas Brooks Thomas 6'7" | C Evansville Harrison | 2025 State IN – At 6-foot-7, Thomas is a massive post prospect that knows how to use his size. He is a pick-and-roll big that always does a great job of slipping to his spot and creating an opportunity for an easy bucket around the rim. He will be the No. 1 post option for Evansville Harrison.
- Malachi McNair Malachi McNair 6'6" | C Evansville Harrison | 2024 State IN – McNair is another player I can see having a major breakout season here as a senior. is one of the better under-the-radar big men in Indiana’s Class of 2024 and has good footwork and a soft touch inside, rebounds his area well, and can hold his own physically on the block defensively.
Notable Games (Confirmed)
- vs Parke Heritage (Terre Haute South) (11/25)
- at New Albany (12/1)
- at Evansville Memorial (1/19)
- at Terre Haute North (2/17)
