In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Brownstown Central Braves.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 24-5 last season
- Lost to Linton-Stockton in Semi-State
- Dave Benter returns for 26th year as head coach. Overall record of 449-162 as head coach.
- Considered one of the favorites to win Class 2A State Finals
Top Player: Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN
The Purdue signee is the obvious best player and the guy that Braves will run everything through. Before he heads to Purdue, the 6’4″ guard/wing is looking to finish strong and make a State Championship push. Benter is also looked at one of the potential winners of the Indiana Mr. Basketball award. Incase you have not ever watched Benter, he is a bigger guard that score at all three levels and has some of the highest IQ in the state. Expect a strong senior season for him.
Potential Breakout Player: Colby Hall Colby Hall 6'6" | PF Brownstown Central | 2025 State IN
As a big man, Hall has always been someone I have thought to have a ton of upside. At 6’6″, Hall has the ability of most modern day bigs being that he can bang in the post while also be able to stretch the floor at a high rate. Silky smooth bog that makes an impact on the defensive end as well as he does a great job of not allowing any easy buckets around the rim. Having a big like Hall at the 2A level is a major advantage for the Braves. Could see a breakout junior season.
Other Important Roster Members
- Parker Hehman Parker Hehman 6'0" | PG Brownstown Central | 2024 IN – Besides Benter, Hehman is projected to be the other primary ball handler for the Braves. Hehman is an excellent defender, will handle and distribute the ball within your offense, and is one of the most vocal leaders on the floor. A true lead guard.
- Chace Coomer Chace Coomer 6'5" | SG Brownstown Central | 2025 State IN – Coomer is an another 2025 that could see a potential breakout season for the Braves. He is a 6’5″ shooting guard that plays with athletic ability, attacks the glass and overall has great fundamentals.
Notable Games (Confirmed)
- vs Brownsburg (Hall of Fame Tournament) (12/30)
- at Carmel (1/13)
- vs New Albany (2/17)
- at Orleans (2/23)
