In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Blackhawk Christian Braves.

- Matt Roth returns for second year as head coach for Blackhawk Christian
- Won 3 State Championships in last 5 seasons
Top Player: Kellen Pickett Kellen Pickett 6'9" | PF Blackhawk Christian | 2025 State #108 Nation IN
Kellen Pickett Kellen Pickett 6'9" | PF Blackhawk Christian | 2025 State #108 Nation IN is without question the top returning player for the Braves this season as he is also one of the best overall players in the state. The versatile big man averaged 13.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore and with Blackhawk losing a lot from last season, those numbers will easily go up and get into the double-double range. The 6-foot-8 power forward is one of the better rebounders we have in the state and can stretch the floor on the offensive end as well. As a defensive player, he can guard both the wing and post very well. There are plenty of D1s looking at him due to his high upside and as he makes the projected leap this season, many more will come into the picture in his recruitment.
Potential Breakout Player: Isaac Smith
One player that is expected to make an even leap this season for the Blackhawk Christian Braves is 6’6″ shooting guard Isaac Smith. Smith is absolutely one of the best pure shooters you’ll find in the Class of 2024 and as a junior, he averaged 9.1 points per game for Blackhawk Christian on their way to a Class 2A state title while shooting 79-199 from three-point range. He is an elite catch-and-shoot threat with good size on the perimeter that started to attract some college interest over the summer. He stock will only rise as his role increases throughout the season.
Notable Games (Confirmed)
- Lawrenceburg Tournament (12/29)
- at Fort Wayne Concordia (1/6)
