Mid-September Bartlett High hosted the annual PrepHoops 250 Expo with wonderful talent. The following evaluations are exclusively focused on Team 6 players.
Darrell Davis Jr. Darrell Davis Jr. 5'10" Bartlett | 2026 TN (Bartlett)
Sean Taylor Sean Taylor 6'1" | SG Harding | 2024 TN (Harding Academy)
Relatively quiet offensively. Taylor made 1-1 from three-point line in his first game.
Samuel Jackson Jr. Samuel Jackson Jr. 6'2" | SG University School Of Nashville | 2025 TN (University School – Nashville)
Hit a three-pointer in the secondary gym. His team needed the shooting to compliment Rhett Broussard Rhett Broussard 6'2" | PG Goodpasture Christian School | 2025 State TN ‘s wonderful outside shooting.
Must add heft and power. He is not incapable of finishing in tight, but to do so consistently he will need to bulk up.
Rhett Broussard Rhett Broussard 6'2" | PG Goodpasture Christian School | 2025 State TN (Goodpasture)
Rhett was electric. Not just a scorer. Rhett attacked even when the opponent expected him to, meaning he drew intensified pressure and still made it work. Rhett enjoyed the greatest five minutes of the event when, including a personal 8-0 run. And then it kept going. Rhett was burying his outside shot. Rhett took and made a lot of buckets. His first-step was tremendous. Most of his moves escorted him to the side of his defender and he earned his way to the ensuing easy bucket quickly after. Broussard is likely to start for Goodpasture alongside fellow camper Jayden Jones Jayden Jones 6'4" | SF Goodpasture | 2025 State #389 Nation TN . The multi-faceted game turned a few heads Saturday.
Kendal George Kendal George 6'2" | SF West Creek | 2026 State TN (West Creek)
Great intensity. Scored a layup and poked free the inbounds following it. Bulldog on the glass. Recorded multiple offensive rebounds. This team desperately needed both a rebounder and a worker. George was like a Dennis Rodman battling for rebounds most would just give up on. Drives to the basket with a shoulder down. Not a consistent shooter. Handle must improve. Rugged. In truth, George is a 6’2″ SF/PF. Appreciates his role and helps the team in a variety of ways.
Kamden Murray Kamden Murray 6'3" | SG West Creek | 2026 State TN (West Creek)
Versatile. He can probably play the 1-2-3 in high school and looks to be a wing in college. Not quick enough to stop very quick high school point guards yet judging by his matchup with Ethan Caswell Ethan Caswell 6'3" | PG Bolton | 2026 State TN . He did deter Caswell in pockets. Defending the perimeter with consistency, sliding his feet quicker and more often, needs to be a focus.
Nice pull-up jumper. Good second-leaper. Can create for himself. Kamden played with good activity all day. Ideally, Kamden will refine his more advanced dribbling moves. He can crossover and blow-by, but his behind-the-back needs some work. It can get there with work. The event lent itself to scorers and hustlers. Murray played more aggressively and actively than the average camper and managed to impact the defense simply by moving and cutting. Tough around the rim. He did not get shook by collapsing or challenging defenders. Finished high with confidence.
Not turnover prone. Played as a combo guard during the event. At least for this one day, he did not rebound much at all on either end.
Ethan Gatewood Ethan Gatewood 6'7" | SF Bartlett | 2026 TN
Raw, wonderful height for the position. Gatewood was clearly one of the best athletes in the building.
Ethan screened with his arms instead of his chest. It is a small detail even though it could be called a foul by a persnickety referee.
Soft touch. His shooting percentage dropped dramatically when he put a dribble down first. This is not abnormal. Still, if he wants to be a potent mid-range and wing player, which seems plausible in time, then he needs to improve the pull-up and scoring after his decent spin move.
